Diode Dynamics Chase Light Is Here

StinkyFab sells a bracket that bolts onto the tire carrier that looks like it would work. I dont know the exact measurements but based on the length of the OEM 3rd brake light and 2 inch pods that mount to the bracket, the Diode Dynamics Chase light should bolt right in. Hopefully my existing wiring harness for the Diode Dynamics reverse light kit will work with this chase light.

Here I am wasting all this time designing a simple 14" x 5" plate to mount a brake light that was more than taken care of by the factory. But mine will have Bronco in script cut into it with my laser jet and look super cool. I guess. Maybe. All in the name of chase light. Lol

The mount we are talking about is a full on custom setup. Mine is that way because I have a turn offroad tailgate reinforcement and had a pair of chase lights mounted onto the stinkyfab chase light brackets. So in order to run this light setup, I'll have to basically get a flat piece of metal to run on top of the 2 brackets so then the new dd chase light will bolt to that bracket. I haven't made it yet since I don't have the chase light yet to measure and cut, and then I'll need to fire up the ol powdercoat machine to make things pretty. So it's gonna be some time for me to get a picture.

It will just bolt on top and be over the factory hmsl. Should ship any day now.

I just got mine like Monday. Pretty slick design. Have to get my mount drilled and powder coated this weekend so I can install the setup next weekend. I'll post when I have mine on.

It's not the kit that's holding me back. I bought the light with the bracket. Just my supports off the spare tire mount were kinda powdercoated pretty shitty like. They are chase light mounts. I have since tossed the shitty plastic Ford mount. But to make the bracket on the DD light fit, I have to drill 2 holes anyway. So might as well get my mounts properly powdercoated.

Oh wait, you're talking about the kit that mounts it onto the spare tire lug nuts? Yeah, no. I like to run no spare a lot of times when out wheeling so adding the extra time to unbolt and rebolt is for the birds. I like permanent and stable.

Oh well, first person to buy one has to make install video for challenged folks. I didn't see one on the website when i looked. Dunno but you don't really need a video.

Step 1: Remove 3 bolts holding spare tire
Step 2: Place provided bracket over those 3 bolt holes, use the included bolts/extensions to re-secure the bracket and spare tire
Step 3: Mount the light bar to the included brackets using the included hardware
Step 4: Plug the harness in-line to your factory passenger side tail light.
Step 5: Route the wire harness along the existing wire harness and pass it through the swing gate and run it up to the light, plug it in
Step 6: If you want to turn the chase light on (which you DO naturally), then connect it to the existing upfitter wire which is hidden behind the passenger side panel behind the rear seat. Then follow online instructions on how to do wiring in the bronco.
