In my own experience with pizza cutters - you cut the weight dramatically, and get all the benefit of the additional height - but you do trade off in off-road traction.

Those are tradeoffs I think are worth while, but not everyone does. I think of the slip as method of protecting my axles - which isn't entirely true but it’s what I tell myself to sleep at night.

I would've been all in on this like a month ago! I was actually looking for a set of BD wheels at one point. They look fantastic on the Bronco.
Agreed!

Makes sense to me 🤷🏻‍♂️ They look really cool too. I was thinking about doing some pizza cutter and then deleting the fender flares. I think that is a really cool look.

It won't break until it stops spinning!!! My logic for not getting the Sasquatch with the front locker:wink:

Well crazy turn of events I won the SimpleTire giveaway on here! I played it safe and went with 265/75r16 Firestone Destination X/T. They look aggressive, have good reviews, and are relatively light. Super excited and will post pics as soon as I get them installed.
You will love them, compared to the factory 30s you'll think your driving a monster truck!

I plan on going with pizza cutters but in a 35", for my '22 BD w/steelies. I wish General made a skinny Grabber. 100k miles and I still have plenty of tread left. Been doing 5-tire rotations every 5k.

It definitley felt like that when I had my BS! I put some 30" BFG KO2's on it when I had it and thought I could tackle the Rubicon lmao

Dang that's super impressive. I thought about going with some Grabbers as well. Pizza cutters on the steelies will look sick.

Random side note how has your rig held up over that 100k miles? What major repairs, if any, have you had to do?

Yeah that was the reason I went with the Milestar 275/80-17. Ended up with the RT because they didn't have that size in the MT. They measure just a fraction over the factory 315/70's. So basically a true 34 rather than a small 35. Ended up going 37s and tossing it all out the window later anyways. 😂

With all the reports of BD M190s breaking when they shouldn't have, I'm glad I swapped to the M210. I actually keep trying to find that thread I saw the other day and haven't had any luck.

You are, of course correct, but I need to keep justifying my logic because I have that 4.27 that can't be (economically) matched with a M210

My Bronco has the stock Badlands KO2 285/70R17. I've been planning on going to 35s and I was going to get pizza cutters. I like their old-school look, and they're better and safer in winter conditions when I go to the mountains.

However, when I wanted to upgrade my suspension's off-road performance, it turns out that all the coilover options involve significant lift. Since I'm going to 35s from 33s, we're looking at at least 2.5" total lift.

For that reason, I decided to stay with wide tires (70 aspect ratio) on less (+25) offset. That way my Bronco will be taller but also wider. These tires (Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 315/70R17) will be installed later this month. I didn't want to go to a 0 or negative offset because of the effect on bearings over time.

I went with the same size on my Base, but with General Grabbers. I love the look and the ride is pretty good, too.
