This thing is basically a off road civic. The list of aftermarket parts are endless. Makes me glad i picked the black diamond with a soft top. Everything it lacked i upgraded. Only recall has been a software update. Plan to keep it well after warranty.

No different than owning any other car outside of warranty. Ac problems, engine knock, oil leaks. Not sure you're better off with anything else, maybe older toyotas that are built well. Anything older is arguably built better than today's autos. All junk.
Recalls are part of owning a car. I'm not worried about those.

That aside. Naw. It can be fixed. My 22 BL 7mt has been rock solid for about 4 years. Minor pinion seal leak like other m210's, whatever. See above statement.

I keep vehicles forever. The recalls ,except for one have been trivial issues to me. I have fortunately experienced none of the failures resulting in the recalls. The only issue that concerns me is the fuel pump failure recall. Still no remedy has been established and the idea of being a couple thousand miles away from home on an adventure and then suffering a fuel pump failure gives me great concern. I bought an extended Ford warranty right when my original warranty was set to expire. I customized my warranty since mileage is not a factor but years is. I also found a local selling a two door MIC top for $500 so I snatched that up as a replacement should my original top suffer the established woes.

Nothing to replace it.

They aren’t making anymore two door V6 Broncos in antimatter blue, so I will drive this one.

Limp mode for an add on feature that it does not even need to operate safely. That’s a problem that doesn’t need to exist.
Ive never regretted not having that feature, to many complaints about its reliability.
sorry man, that would rub me raw also.
And this is the reason some folks here such as @SierraBronco have a bit of a hate boner for the integrated swaybar disco. It's too tied into the electrical nannies. I like the e-disco, but I'd rather have it added after market so it's not tied into the computer so tightly to put me in limp mode. It's a feature I am happy I don't have at the present.

For sure the one thing I hate about this 6G everything is on the canbus.

I will never own a late model Ford without a Ford extended warranty. I used Granger for the wife's Sport and will do the same with my 2dr

Fords are easy to work on a cheap to repair. I have no issues with ownership after warranty.

I take mine apart too frequently to upgrade something and find it very easy and intuitive to work on.

you people are making it sound like a BMW where you can’t do the work yourself and every repair was >$10k, and little aftermarket fun upgrades you can use as substitutes

I usually get a new car every 5 years or so but don't see any major issues with keeping it if nothing catches my eye by then. The only really truly reliable car I've encountered in the past decade is mdern Subarus seem extremely reliable. My wife's WRX's have had 0 issues. Everything else my friends and family drive have recalls, electrical problems, engine failures, etc. including my Bronco (3 recalls).

Nothing can compare to something like my 1996 Nissan Hardbody that will last longer than me.

They just don't build them like that anymore because if you make something that rock solid people have no reason to buy new ones.

Make them cheap enough and sell them high enough and the recalls don't damage the car company's pocketbook as much.

My experience has been the opposite. We used to own a 2010 F150 Lariat. It was a CPO purchase with about 32K miles on it. In addition to the CPO warranty, also purchased the CPO wrap which extended the warranty to 100K miles.

That extended warranty paid for itself and probably every extended warranty I've purchased for other cars I've owned. Some of the issues I had just to name what I can remember (it had 110K miles on it when we got rid of it).

* Cam Phasers
* Driver side Blend Door actuator - $35 part, well over $2K in labor since the entire dash needs to be removed.
* Passenger side Blend Door actuator
* HVAC Fan speed controller (can't remember the actual name) - Fan was stuck on HIGH
* Rear glass shattered due to it overheating from the defroster - Known issue and had to fight ford to get it replaced
* Cracked exhaust manifold - Known issue
* Lower control arm
* Radiator

There's more, but that's just what I can remember off the top of my head. I have a folder full of repairs at home.

On the contrary, I owned a 2012 BMW X5 during the same time. It was also a CPO purchase with 35K miles on it, and I did get an extended warranty. I traded it in w/110K miles on it for the Bronco. During that time I had the following:

* Electric water pump failed - Covered, a recall was later issued
* A couple of the touch sensitive exterior door handles replaced (under warranty)
* A/C compressor failed at 105K miles

There was also a recall VANOS system that was handled.

I did get rid of the BMW out of fear that future repairs were looming.

Needless to say, with the experience I had with the F150, I was a little apprehensive going with the Bronco, but I did. However, getting the extended warranty was a no-brainer for me.

So far (2024 w/12,500 miles), I haven't had any issues. There are two recalls on it. The first was for the backup camera that has been addressed with an OTA update. The second is for the seat bolts (I haven't noticed any issues), which I'll have addressed when I go in for service at 15K miles. I've held off since the parts weren't available and didn't want it sitting at the dealer for weeks if there was an issue with mine. Also, no issues with the MIC top yet.

So, at this point I have been pretty happy, but I'm not kidding myself, it's still early in the ownership experience.

Maybe I will live to regret this, but I think low key the Bronco is going to be one of the most reliable vehicles that Ford made during this time when we look back in 10 years.

Seems to be coin toss, I have owned 3 broncos to this day. A 2023 Badlands that I still own with 100,000 miles on it and has been in a pretty bad accident that has never given us one problem. Owned a 25 base 2 door and put 80,000 miles on it in just 6 months, never one problem with it either. I now own a 4 door big bend and have 12,000 miles on it in the first month of owning it, no problems yet.

I agree, adding after purchase and tie into aux switch is the way to go with this feature.
