Have you heard rumblings that the recall extension is for just delamination or both cracking issues & delamination? If my memory service me right the original recall was for only delamination.

I would think cracking is delamination. The material is splitting and coming apart.

Ducati I appreciate your quick reply. I thought I missed something or did not recall correctly. The bulletin does not clearly delineate the extent of a crack (hairline etc.). For the folks that have cracking 🤞 that the recall is expanded. As always thanks for your support/input

No problem.
I would assume that hairline cracking would not be covered or result in a replacement for this recall, but that is really just a guess at this point.

I think they're probably looking for more pronounced cracking that can actually lead to chunks of the top delaminating and flying off.

But the question is now exactly will they do it? Do they have a completely new top from a different manufacturer that they're going to replace everyone's MIC's with? What about folks that have already had a top (or two or three) replaced, will they be affected by the recall?

There are a lot of unknowns with this whole situation, but it should be interesting to see how it pans out.
That this only covers 2021-2022 models suggests Ford believes the issue was fully-resolved by MY23. That implies that tops that failed the inspection would potentially get replaced by a newly-manufactured MIC top. So, my thought is that the recall will cover every '21 or '22 MIC Bronco, and like the shock recall, will involve an inspection. Those passing inspection probably won't have anything done. Those failing will be remedied in some manner. If you're lucky, those passing inspection may have an extended warranty applied to the top.

Your theory makes sense, but there’s folks are here who’ve had theirs replaced multiple times since 23. Who know, we’ll see, I guess.

I dropped this in another thread too, not sure which is the most current, but...

The cracks/spidering/bubbling showed up a few week ago for me. I am out of my 3/36, which would have covered it, but now I'm on the Premium ESP. My dealer submitted a claim, but Ford denied it saying that it was not covered under the Premium ESP.

1. How can something that is covered by the basic warranty not be covered by the Premium ESP?
2. How is a roof considered a a 'trim' piece?
3. What do I do now ?

1. The 3/36 bumper to bumper covers everything, Premium care doesn't cover everything. They're 2 completely different things.

2. It's no different than body panels not being covered. Nothing body related is covered.

3. Ask your dealer to see if Ford is willing to goodwill a portion of the repair, look for a used top for sale, or go aftermarket.

Unfortunately that’s the same boat many have found themselves in. I’ve already had my top replaced and as most with a MIC, concerned about warranty expiration. Choices are to live with it, buy a new top(OEM or aftermarket) or have cracking top linex’ed. It’s a real shame Ford is letting all of its MIC owners pay for a failing part. With these new MIC recalls being issued maybe and hopefully out of warranty top problems will get resolved.

2025 raptor. 18,000 miles. Just had the drivers roof panel replaced.
Problem wasn’t fixed in later models
