I have a 25 2 door base 2.3L 7 speed. I liked the way the way the 30" tires made it look quirky and top-heavy, like a 1960s Bronco.

OK, done with that, I am going to bring the stance in to proportion.

I spent enough time researching this site and Tire Rack that I won't apologize for throwing out yet another tire question. I was about to hit the buy button and noticed a +10mm offset on the wheels I was buying. Hmm, what is the offset supposed to be? Most Bronco wheels have a +55mm offset. Stop, think, ask.

I am going from the 155/70/16 to a 185/70/17, which seems to be the consensus for a no-brainer, easy fit. The lower offset will bring the tires 45mm closer to the frame and other rubby bits. The back spacing on the rims is listed as 5.118". Should I be concerned?

Also, the Tire Rack winter tire comparison video made me lean heavily toward the Vredestein Pinzas. I had never heard of this brand. Comments or warnings would be appreciated--panic is always an option.

Positive offset is toward the vehicle.
Our +55 or +30 is fairly tucked. +10mm is 45mm further away. Removal of crash bars may be required by the greater swing.

Thanks for the gentle corrections, guys. I was wrong.

That brings me back to the beginning. Do I take this package that sticks out 1.85" and hope for the best? My carport is full of motorcycles and my driveway is very steep. Any modifications would have to be done on the street.

The only thing I am sure of now is that the "Battleship Blue" color needs bronze wheels to make sense.

I saw a takeoff set from a Ranger Heritage in Houston. I mention the city only because a trip to pick up the tires locally would allow a visit to my ex wife (still hot, but we can't be married), Lolas, Rudyards and Marfrellas.

Those Ranger rims are 18" and look like Outer Banks with a bronze paint job. I also noticed that most of the available takeoff packages are from Outer Banks. Are Bronco owners so dissatisfied with those for a reason?

A grateful and humbled Stromski
