what did you use to track the sound dB? I have the dB x app on my phone and it recorded like 75+
I used the NIOSH SLM app. I had mine at ear height. I also turned off HVAC. I did have a nasty air whistle on driver door and fixed that prior to the testing. The little triangle spot the window rises in was pretty bad on mine. Also the stock tires are pretty loud. Not sure what your tires are but the nitto trail grappler is what o did the testing on. They are much quieter then the stock tires

I'm doing that too!
Also like this idea! I also did killmat in the cargo area and sides when everything was torn out to do audio upgrades… that are just meh. But the killmatt did make a lot of difference. Still a loud vehicle at speed!

I agree with others here. I’ve done extensive work and trial and error. The kilo mat plus closed cell and 3m thinsulate works amazingly well. I have a video I’m editing on how I did mine. Should be done soon. Did lots of Db testing. Doors are big and so is floor. The headliner is not a big bang for buck but does help absorb sounds once’s in cabin to give a more premium feel. Also believe it or not the largest change of frequencies in the cabin was adding Mat to inside of skid plates. I have full skids and I used neoprene washers. Huge change in road sound. The bronco can be nearly as quiet as a nice suv such as an Audi q7. Just takes a few afternoons and $5-800 in materials. But your sound system will be the big win. I thought about upgrading but now it sounds premium and we found we can’t turn it up as loud anymore ha!

The testing charts I attached are probably a little louder than what you should expect. I have icon uca and those things really transmit the road noise and I’m on portals which don’t add noise but push tires well outside the wheel well so that adds substantial turbulence along sides.

Also as other commented. It’s a brick so above 60 mph you lose the battle to aerodynamics.

That’s great info! I’m looking forward to the video. I’m not sure about taking the interior out. That seems like a big job.

Cool! Yeah I will get it down soon. I’m lazy. Ha. Just busy but will try to get it posted. I also did not remove the seats or the carpet. You can access the areas with out doing that.

@That Bronco Guy I have that same drivers door air whistle, so maybe it's an iconic silver thing 😜 ...how did you fix it?

Go to Home Depot and buy the self adhesive backed weather striping. Separate the 2 and cut a piece about 3” or so. Roll window down and slide the strip in there so the adhesive sticks to the upper part of the triangle trim then roll window up and close door so window presses up against it. Then cut the access material with razor blade.

The air comes in at the top and shoots inside where the gasket flexes or pudges.

Ok. I’m trying to figure this out, and I’d rather have you spend your time doing the sound deadening video lol, but does the weather seal stick to the inside of the small black triangle, facing the outside or the inside?

Ha.

I’m not around the bronco right now but here are some photos of the location. The weather striping sits inside the channel so when the glass is up it compresses the weather striping and seals the air coming in. Follow the contour of the window at an angle so the strip takes up slack in the channel. The. The window is up you don’t see any evidence of the weather striping

If the triangle gasket is whistling there in my photos that is your issue most likely. If your door is whistling at the top by your ear then carefully pull down the window gasket on the hard top and even a tiny bit eliminates the whistle. They move down a little.
