Sorry just having some issues with some people outside of this arena and I slept at a holiday inn....
There was a Simpsons episode years ago where Lisa falls asleep on a bus and ends up on the "other" side of Springfield. She comes across some Russian men players checkers and asks them how to get back. With lots of volatile energy they seem to rant at her and slap the checker board, which goes flying. She runs off and they look at each other and shrug. If you read the captions, they were giving her the directions she wanted.

Maybe it's because it comes off aggressive or angry, yeah, I got that too. Who knows?!? It's the internet. Don't worry be happy. Which probably means getting off the internet. Hope today is better than yesterday. Going off roading soon?

I don't see how adding a special edition angers folks. Stuff like this doesn't prevent engineers from fixing issues with the current Bronco. It's different groups of people; guys working on a plush interior aren't the same guys who'd design better MIC tops. Other issues like availability of certain things (I'm looking at you V8), well I trust to Ford's greed. If they thought it would be a big seller and would make them money, you'd better believe it would be a thing. V8s, much like my beloved manual, and 2 doors, fail the cost benefit analysis. For every red blooded wheeler who want those things, there are 6 or 7 soccer moms who give zero shits about them. And Ford knows that you're going to buy what they offer anyways, so there's no need to cater to the enthusiast.

While I feel that the list of trims is bloated, and even more should be cut/trimmed into packages, it's not the worst thing ever. A Filson edition? I just like, you know, won't buy it. Existing does not hurt me. Ford knows they're going to sell more plush 'lifestyle' Broncos than they ever would sell V8s, and the more broncos they sell regardless of edition or trim, the better it is for me because there will be more demand for stuff I will buy for mine such as parts.

Levis might seem to make sense, but the average Levis brand loyalist is too young and too poor to afford a +$50K toy. Levis is heritage, but not premium. Their target market is under 30 and urban. BTW, Levis creative director is an old friend and my former boss.
They did it with Jeep back in the day! They're cool lookin' CJs with unique seat fabric.

Exactly. The Ford team working with Filson is the design and marketing folks, not the engineers. Designers will get to try new stuff on what’s essentially a concept car, and maybe if they’re popular, they trickle down to other models, or are copied by aftermarket companies.

People here are already spending a ton of money on aftermarket stuff, a lot of it cosmetic, and this will just be Ford creating a preloaded package of it, while skimming some dollars from the top. Doesn’t impact us regular Bronco owners negatively in any way I can see.

I am all good.... No today is a bitch but I will get through it fine... 3 deaths in the family in three months and now a fourth is in a coma unresponsive.... Makes you think about what is important in life. I have a couple of wiring projects to finish on the Bronco and then yeah.... a trail run I have been wanting to explore... Thanks, I needed that reminder to get out and make that run.....

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope they pull through and condolences for your losses. We've all got but a short time to live with grace and dignity. All the best Joe!

Get your own jacket for the price of a car payment + shipping and handling and some patches from Amazon.

That gray/black/tumbler is very underwhelming. The Jeep one was way nicer green/tan/luggage. I'll just get some Chinese diamond stitched seat covers and my green/black/gray BB and be half way here.

So you're saying that's how I ended up with 72 bomber jackets...? I knew I should've gone for the 36 option.

People are definitely spending a ton on cosmetic items/fashion accessories. I'm guilty too, I bought Badlands takeoff rims to replace my Big Bend rims (which I hated). Mine was fairly cheap, but there are more fashion accessories in my future. I dislike the big bend grille for example. I might switch to signature headlights because I think they look cooler than what I have.

And I am not even among the biggest offenders. I had to go into the office on Wednesday, and there was an Outer Banks parked in my preferred parking spot. The guy had an after market bumper and winch on his outer banks...to go with the stock non-SAS Bridgestone Duellers in 32. I can't imagine a whole lot of scenarios where you'd add a winch over tires for NEED. Maybe he's got another set of wheels he uses for wheeling, but I think it's more likely that the dude dropped a lot of money on a fashion accessory. Image sells.

Funnily enough, sorta exactly the point. MOST regular people are never going to DIY anything, and the demographic they’re after with this edition will ALWAYS pay the premium of someone doing the legwork for them. It’s not what most of us already here would do, but most of us is not who they’re doing this edition for.

100%

The folks who come here are typically enthusiasts of some nature. Whether it's wheeling or just interest in the vehicle itself, it's a group of folks who are enthused about the Bronco platform. Karen hauling her kids to soccer practice doesn't care, and she bought a Badlands with sasquatch because it was top of the line, and she's cooler than the goalie's mom Sarah who drives a shiny new Jeep Rubicon. If only someone would put a little rubber bucking horse on her car, things would be perfect. Sarah's ducks of course, are dumb just like she is.

People said the same thing about basic cruise control when it came out. Stating your opinion as an aggressive fact doesn’t make it true nor does it stop the march of progress. Take a deep breath man.

That jacket model looks very serious. If I get the Filson Edition will I have to carry a scowl?
