It’s funny, everyone’s different. I only started looking at the Bronco a few years ago because I knew that I was moving to the mountains and would HAVE to be driving off-road for a fair percentage of the time, in not great weather. I didn’t want or need a pickup, I’ve had one before. So personally, I shopped for functionality and quality, and I ended up looking pretty hard at Toyota, Ineos, and Bronco. I had also owned a Land Rover before, and I’ve rented a bunch of Jeeps, so those were both hard no’s. All these vehicles have their ’cool’ components, and their compromises. For me, Bronco was simply the best bang for my buck, and the combo of features that seemed to best meet my needs. Is it cool? It is — I like it a lot. Makes me smile every time I get in. But if I was down in the city running errands, there’s no way I’d have a 5000 lb vehicle with knobby tires that gets 18mpg. I’ve always bought vehicles for practicality, which probably makes me weird.
Agreed. And another reason I left the big city as fast as I could! My hobbies really demand a truck, but I bought a 2 door Bronco anyway and my son will be leaving the house with my F150 in a couple of years. So who knows, lol. Hard to haul 10' sticks of hard maple or 4x8 sheets of steel in Bronco. I see a smallish trailer in my future.

Okay, so everyone who's never heard of a nearly 130 year old company has spoken.

Now, what would it take to get you to buy one?

My Filson:
  • Two-door
  • 3.0 EcoBoost or 5.0 Coyote
  • Tremec Manual Transmission
  • Twin Stick Transfer Case
  • Root Beer Metallic Paint
  • Optional two-tone like the old Eddie Bauer
  • Fenders like ADV, not the Braptor
  • 37-40" tires
  • Leather seats like the OG King Ranch(a place I had never heard of until Ford did that F150)
  • Memory, Heated, and Cooled Seats and heated rear seats
I'd pay $80,000 for it.

For 80k best we can do is seat covers, stickers, different color, different wheels, and maybe an accessory or two you can get for 200.
Oh yea 2.3 and 10 sp of course, don’t want to get tooooo crazy around here

Heated rear seats in a 2 door? How about an easily removable bench seat. But yeah, throw some thick, actual leather with heavy duty stitching on there and I'd buy one used for $45,000, lol. The leather on my F150 is paper thin and wore out faster than a Bounty paper towel.

Maybe you get those last two. I’m guessing the body color will be that dark forest green that we see already on the spare cover, which they’ll call “spruce gray” 😎

LOL. Paint department at car manufacturers are all color blind. "Pewter" on my 2002 GMC was tan, and didn't resemble pewter in any sense of the word.

The Eddie Bauer colors always reminded me of floral wallpaper from the 80s.

Alpine Blue Fir - mimics the Forest Service Green somewhat with a tinge of Boxwood.

I went from a Tacoma to Bronco and first purchase was a smallish trailer. That I’ve used once or twice in last 4 yrs.

We'd be great with a small 8' lightweight trailer. Heck, would be longer than my 5.5' F150 bed.

I bought one of those fold up harbor freight trailers for like $500. For as little as I use it, storage space is minimal. I really thought I would use it much more, but discovered many things can be transported w rear window open and cargo sticking out

It will be interesting to see what they come up with in this collaboration. As for people who will buy it, well as they say, there is a @@s for every set.

I love my BRaptor, it goes off-road, it hits mud and trails, and later this year it will go out west and see some of the sites they have to offer. Its my daily as well, and I will guarantee it's way more than some tacked-on bumpers and flares like a Honda.

Yeah, I recently have bought some 2 piece surf rods and in a 2 door Bronco, they still have to rest on the console. And I don't want to drive 3 hours with the rear window open.

Then, when I go to the metal guy and buy some 3" square tube and have to buy 20' sticks cut in half, there's no way that will work at all. Or buying 6/4 maple lumber for a furniture piece, that isn't going to work either.

About $1800 new. Can rent ‘em at my local U-Haul.

Not a bad price. I have 5 16x7 base Bronco wheels, though, with the 29" Duelers still mounted. And I weld. I see a custom trailer build in my future. Can I do it for less than $1,800? Yeah, probably. The metal would be about $500, and I'd use composite decking instead of wood for the bed of the trailer.

I do not think that is weird at all... I would go so far as to call it wise.
