I don't understand this partnership as I've never even heard of this company It seems to only be relevant in the Northwest. I mean at least partner with a company that's more recognizable. Everybody knew Eddie Bauer and it had a cult following. This is going to be a flop!
Interesting comment. I had and ā€˜85 Eddie Bauer and never heard of Filson until today. Does seem like a $$$ knockoff to fit with the First Edition, Stroppe, Anniversary Edition and probably some I missed. If Ford and Bronco are ā€œmain stream Americaā€, and I’m not even sure what that is, Filson is not it

Delusional.

More and more, Ford fancies itself as a luxury automaker, evident in Bronco. Yet I doubt they'll change anything about the interior plastic quality, it'll be trim and upholstery as usual.

Mark me down as never heard of Filson before this thread.

Filson is nice stuff, for sure. Very pricey. I guess Ford knows the old guy with disposable income demo!
I see them out and about all the time on the trails, usually very laid back people looking for somewhere to spend lol.

Why is no one excited about the Assless Chaps Edition? It comes with leather seats, belt buckle seat belts, no top, no tailgate er rear door, and no floor, and frankly, just wanders around sayin' "Look at me!!" and "Hey there baby!" with finger guns out. It'll sell millions, I know. Probably in Montana alone.

Love Filson, but it is some pricey stuff. Glad my bags and cruiser jackets are older and made in USA.

Not sure I'd care to have Filson badges on my Bronco, but hey, I do get complements when I wear Filson and I get complements on my green Bronco, so maybe they are on to something! :sunglasses:

This announcing you're going to be announcing something marketing crap has become old.

Tell me when you actually have something.

Filson is a shell of it's old self. It's now owned by a private equity firm that's moved most production and material supply overseas. They are just a 'lifestyle' brand now catering to those who like the look, but would never actually use the gear as it was intended. Fitment is all over the place and the materials get thinner and thinner. I bought a new Mackinaw wool jacket a couple years ago. The stitching was shotty, one sleeve was slightly shorter than the other, the material was much thinner and lower quality than my older one and it fit like a tent.

If that's what they are going to be providing to Ferd, then no thanks. Although, this likely makes them perfect partners.

I did buy a duffle bag on clearance a few months ago that was decent enough, but I'd never pay full price for it.
Remember though that the Mackinaw Cruiser wool jackets are still made in the factory in Seattle, not imported like most of their other stuff, but I agree with most of your point.

Filson gear and clothing also regularly goes on sale and they're having a big one now, so avoiding the full price from the private equity firm is possible, but I bet it won't be for this pricey poseur Bronco. lol!

I have some Filson gear that I’ve bought over the years, including a 14 year old packer coat, which will be an heirloom. I’ve pretty much stopped buying their stuff even on sale. It’s mostly all just imported stuff now.

The one I got was made in Bangladesh. This was 2-3 years ago though.

I've visited the Seattle location several times, there seem to be fewer sewing machines every time I've gone down there.

It's the only way I buy anything from them anymore, which doesn't happen very often now.

I’m down for a luxury Bronco if it has meaningful luxury improvement. Memory seats, cooled seats, blue cruise, etc… I’d buy one

Wow! That’s terrible. And prices have risen dramatically since I purchased my Wool Mackinaw Cruiser and my Tin Cloth Short Lined Cruiser and the short cruiser was imported, but think it has been for maybe 20 years, but still much thicker and better than the knock off from Huckberry which is a joke although has gotten popular.

Private Equity is the enemy of us all.

The Levi's collaboration was done in the '70s by AMC. You could get Levi's edition Gremlins and Cherokees. It wasn't true denim since it didn't have the durability over time, but it looked pretty darn close.
Yeah, my Dad had a Levi’s CJ-5 Renegade with a 304 and side pipes. Black on tan. It was pretty sweet back in 1979.

If it was modeling the 'old guy w/ disposable income' demographic, it'll come only in a 2 door, and have a 5l turbocharged V-8 under the hood.

And have an ashtray and a cigar lighter.
