Mine has that also. I’m not worried about it til it breaks. The weirder thing is that at wide open mid to upper RPM I noticed I was getting wastegate pop like I was at the strip doing a launch control or 2 step. Only noticed after the procal tuner I just installed.
Have you noticed anything like that?
Only noticed a popping sound when revving in park but there’s no boost so idk. I know enough but not all the intricacies of turbos.

Yep mine makes the same noise which can be heard in the cabin when on idle or when slowly reversing. I noticed it days after I picked up my Bronco and took it back right away. Dealer had it for a whole week even got in contact with Ford and they told them to leave it as is for now. They even had me test drive 2 other 2.3s they had on the lot and all had the same noise. I can share a video of the cabin noise if anyone wants to compare their noise to mine but I believe we're all in the same boat
Yeah my “service technicians” at my dealer claim to not be able to hear it. Even my service advisor did a ride along and couldn’t hear it. Just gonna leave it be for now and try to fix it myself later.

Youtube some drag racers doing burnouts in the box. The wastegate are usually external vented so you can see flames and hear the pressure venting. It’s a safety on the exhaust housing side of the turbo, it just vents exhaust gas around the actual turbo impeller

Thanks for posting. I have this same exact issue. Only on cold start and goes away maybe 5 minutes after. I took it into the stealership and they could not hear it which would make sense since my Bronco was warmed up.

Anyways, I don't know what else can be done about this. I found a great video explaining this for another Ford model but I trust the technology is very similar.

Ford Ecoboost Cold Startup Turbo Rattle Explained (youtube.com)

See video attached, but my 2022 2.3L has had this awful wastegate actuator rattle that can be heard in the cabin. If you’ve had this issue, do you have a fix? Any suggestions are appreciated because it’s such an irritating noise that happens every time the turbo kicks in.

I’d have an audio clip in-cabin but phones just don’t pick it up. Dealer says there’s nothing wrong, even after a ride along.

Clearly everything is fine.

Same with mine. Loose like that, and causes rattle upon acceleration. Other ford f150 forums have the same issue and attached a spring to stop the chatter noise. Im playing with an idea in my head: attaching a small weight to the actuator arm, preventing the loose rattle.

According to recent Ford release that defect is normal Ford Quality Job One haha. I do like the weight idea though it's kinda fun in a nostalgic way to pay big money for rattle trap in 2020s haha.

I like the weight idea. Maybe some kind of crimp weight...

Ford has never published any information or bulletins saying this.

If you’re going to continue to parrot this claim over and over on multiple threads, at least shows some valid proof that they actually said this lol

I’d honestly love to see it. Because I have a feeling it isn’t “Ford” at all, and it’s simply your dealer.

This isn’t something that would even require approval from Ford. If it was an actual issue the dealership could simply replace the defective part 🤷‍♂️

I had it in my hand and tossed it out "rattling turbo is normal". Probably just in Canada LOL. I dont care ....its not a G63.....my expectations are aligned with country of origin and price. Kinda fun to have a rattle trap in 2026 reminds me of a high milage Trabant.....cant get this experinwce at any price in new car except Ford LOL.
