I've done three or four oil changes on my bronco so far, never replaced the drain plug even though it's recommended. Finally ordered three new drain plugs and used one of the new ones on my recent oil change a week or so back.
Came out the next day only to find oil under the bronco when I've never had a drop before. Put a pan under it to see how much it was leaking and verify that it wasn't just some residual oil that it splashed somewhere and leaked it down later. Sure enough, it was definitely leaking.
pulled the drain plug and drain the oil, inspected the drain plug and there's a notch in the o ring even though it's a new! I ended up putting The original drain plug back in
