Here are the part numbers for the new painted top. Worth noting is only the front panels come painted, the mid and rear you have to have painted. Also, the price for all these is the bare structure itself ($5800): no glass, seals, latches etc. And its undetermined if all the mic parts directly swap over.

Cap N2DZ-78205G44-A
Middle panel N2DZ-78205G41-A
Right front N2DZ-7851180-GAPTM (paint to match)
Left front N2DZ-7851181-GAPTM (paint to match)

Price is going to vary depending on where you buy it really. If you can actually get all that for $5800 that’s a very good price because normal MSRP is about $9400

Also just to clarify, none of those pieces come painted.
Ford does not sell any pre-painted parts. They will all come in primer.
Paint to match means it will need to be painted to match.

They probably should just eliminate the MIC version and go with the painted modular. I also wish they would add an option for a full hardtop (not modular, one piece, insulated for improved sound deadening) with a sunroof (manual or electric). I think some folks would choose it ... I might.

I just noticed cracking and bubbling on my 2nd full hardtop replacement. I also had just the rear replaced one time, so essentially 3 hardtops. These problems are in addition to terrible honeycombing. I will take it in Monday for what I presume will be my 3rd full hardtop replacement. My warranty runs out in June. I have a 2023 model year. I am beyond frustrated. There has to be something coming soon
Did you wax it?😁 (miss those good ole days…)

For those that have been on back order for a replacement under warranty, have you gotten any documentation regarding the service request or order? I am close to my 3yr/36k warranty expiring, dealer has stated that its on back order, but I want to make sure I have something that shows its been reported and covered if it takes months to be back in stock. Also some have reported that a dealer could potentially order the parts rather than the wait for the entire MIC Hardtop SKU to be back in stock. Not sure a dealer can do that for a full replacement, but curious if anyone has taken that route yet for a full hardtop replacement where a dealer ordered each part separately for a warranty replacement.

It is hard to believe these hardtops are on back order. What a mess!

If you’re still under factory warranty, they shouldn’t be ordering the accessory hardtop.
They can order the individual sections which has plenty of stock available.

Yes they can do that, but it’s quite a bit more expensive. My dealer put it all together with the headliner and was around $12k. Which is why they are going to see if Ford will allow the wait for the full kit assembly.

I bought a new ‘24 in late September ‘25 and it came with cracks from the dealer. Primarily around the corners of the side glass. I recently had it returned to me with a new top from Ford under warranty. The smell of the adhesive they used to glue a new sound deadening headliner is awful. It’s hard to tell in certain light but I could swear some small sections of the new one look uneven.

It’s a shame Ford won’t offer us the option to upgrade to a painted top. I’d likely take that in a heartbeat (though they may not even fit on ‘24s). Honestly the only reason I have a ‘24 with MIC is because it was heavily incentivized and saved me around $15k off MSRP, making special ordering a ‘25 useless.

I’m in IL and my truck has been in the shop for more than month since I bought it for warranty repairs (new hard top and brand new MT due to the stock one grinding). I have half a mind to invoke lemon law and replace mine with a new one with a painted top, but I imagined I’d get screwed on those incentives I received.

I've always wondered what the failure rate on these actually are.

After seeing this a few times, I've been waiting for my hard top to develop issues. But honestly... my 2022 top has been fine. Parked outside.... snow, ice, rain, sleet, sun, whatever. No issue.
I thought the exact same thing - until this weekend. Middle panel cracked in multiple places, and front right looking like it’s starting. Honeycomb on all panels. Mine’s been parked inside. For those who used Rhino liner with a new top, do you believe that’s made a difference for durability?

UPDATE: My dealership has been fantastic. They conducted a thorough inspection and immediately agreed that the entire top needs to be replaced. The representative even acknowledged that these hardtops have ongoing issues and said they’re seeing this problem more often than not.

Unfortunately, upgrading to a painted top with an upcharge isn’t an option.

There has been some confusion about whether honeycombing is considered “normal” and therefore no longer covered. However, the latest TSB from July 2025 confirms that honeycombing is covered, provided there is no chemical discoloration present on the hardtop.

I hope this is encouraging to those out there experiencing the same problems with their hardtop as what I have described.

I never had a problem w the factory hard top on my Wrangler. Why can’t Ford look at that and see how to make them? or use that supplier?

The wife noticed some cracking along the passenger side window and I can see some that's starting to on the driver side, and the left side you can see honey combing (been like this for a while), I have 2k miles left on my bumper to bumper and planning to schedule service this week for them to review.

That is a great question. How long can they go knowing the problems of their hardtop the last five years of production?
