Does the software still require a laptop using older versions of Windows? I don't think dealers in Canada actually install the tunes like they do in the US.

Still requires Windows 7/10/11. It's the same operating system FDRS (the dealer software) requires, so dealers should have it.

Many dealers in the United States won't install tunes either. It's considered an aftermarket component, and some dealers have opted not to install/service aftermarket components.

Its not on their website anymore. They are still on hold just talked to John at Ford Performance. For us Cali owners for the first few months after release they won't have it CARB certified as Cali doesn't like to give out their EO numbers the same year as model year.

I think most people that modify anything understand the potential risks. But as long as you use a reputable tuner, it’s really a non-issue. You’re still going to need the same amount with the FP tune past a 36k miles if something happens

70k miles on my bronco, ~35k of that has been on a custom tune. Daily driven making 500 whp and I’m not even slightly worried about it. Way past warranty already, so why settle for less when more is fun.

Godzilla or coyote is going to cost 2 or 3 times as much at least than simply replacing a factory engine. So that’s kind of a different conversation

No. I don’t think you realize how much would need to change. Not only the engine, but the transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, wiring, potentially some of the modules.

Like I said, hardly just “dropping in” an engine.
There’s a reason why people doing these swaps are charging $40-60k, and it’s not all labor.

That won't fit the 2025 and up 2.3L.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread for awhile, I decided to call Steeda this morning since I hadn't seen any update from Ford and the Steeda product web page went from "Pre-Order" status to looking like an actual order. Steeda confirmed they do not yet have any units in stock and are waiting on Ford.

Irishmurph, I was able to add the same thing you did on the BOI website but I had to search specifically for the part number, it didn't show up in general searches. I'm really hoping they actually have some units and we didn't just order something that's going to take awhile to physically come in.
