I'm too biased on this topic. Good luck.

I consider myself extremely fortunate last Oct to have found my 2024 2dr 2.7L BD with 6k miles at F dealer just 2 miles from my house...also spent little time researching Bronco trims beforehand...but now can see that THAT was THE ONE for me...happy motoring !!!

Depends what you want. If you want power, smoothness, ease of DIY oil changes, and you don't mind gambling with the cam phasers going bad on you, then 2.7.

If you want to not deal with cam phasers, a bit less power towing, then 2.3.

We had both and yes, won the lottery for cam phaser issue really early in ownership. Ended up trading the 2.7 for the 2.3 and couldn't be happier. Negligible difference in mpg between the 2

My observation is that most of the people complaining about engine issues all have 2.7s. That's just an observation. That said, I can't get a manual with a 2.7, so the 2.7 will never be relevant for me.
There was a brief run of 2.7 issues in the early 2021-2022 bronco. Nothing else since.

Most replies to this are probably going to be: "Because I wanted the manual."
I wanted the manual until I test drove a 2.3 manual and then a 2.7 auto back to back. The low end torque on the 2.7 is much better. You need to keep the rpm's up in the 2.3 to make it get up and go.
But that's highway driving... off-road either is great and you probably won't know the difference due to the slow rock crawling speeds.
If I didn't have a manual in my car, I would have settled for less grunt so I could row gears.
I wanted a manual too, but not at the expense of 40hp and nearly 100ft lbs of tq. These stupid bricks are slow enough already. It would be torture to drive a 2.3 as a daily. Sure, crawling is probably barely noticeable until the missing torque is actually needed

Maybe I'm just biased, but anything with less than 500hp/500lb ft if tq is a basically a snail, especially a big, heavy, square brick turning 35s.

Actually the slower stuff is where I noticed the 2.7 being a lot better with the additional torque.

My 2.7 Badlands is strong with no hesitation. The added Sport mode (via Forscan) is fantastic!

That's not a super common issue for the 2.7. It was very common in the 5.4,
the 4.6 and thr 3.5.

I had 3 “must haves” (2dr, 2.7 & Sasquatch) ended up having added big bend and tow on the one I bought…very happy...the 2.7 is good enough but a supercharged V8 would be better…removing the 2.7 from the 2dr takes me out of the bronco market…

Why is 2 door a "must have" for you? Is it strictly an appearance thing or is there some sort of other preference there?

Legitimate question...why would anyone WANT a smaller, less powerful engine?
Because Ford only gave me a 4cyl. I have had both. The 2.7 is a sweet engine. If I didn’t make the switch I would be 100% happy with it.

However owning a manual makes driving more engaging and interesting. Even off roading was more fun. In 4-low with the crawler gear you literally idle over obstacles.

For me, yes, it's an appearance thing. I haven't liked 4 doors since I was a kid. If a 68 Chevelle or a 66 Fairlane doesn't get a free pass, a 202X Bronco sure as shit is not getting a free pass. That said, I do like the shorter wheel base and feel for a daily driver, that short wheel base is superior as it's quite handy in a parking lot.

I wanted a manual too, but not at the expense of 40hp and nearly 100ft lbs of tq. These stupid bricks are slow enough already. It would be torture to drive a 2.3 as a daily. Sure, crawling is probably barely noticeable until the missing torque is actually needed
That’s crazy drama talk honestly, saying it would be torture and it’s so slow, the torque is needed.
I understand “more power” I have been driving v8 for a long time. If it was an option I’d go for it.
The 2.3 has 300hp, I use normal drive mode and I’m getting 19mpg average tank driving to work. A light touch of throttle and your the first one off the line at every light without even trying, unless a sports car is racing you. Sport mode is even more responsive.
My 4door 2.3 moves very well, it’s no slouch and it’s more powerful and faster than all the other vehicles in its class even, those with bigger engines other than its brother the 2.7.
Out in the deep sand and in the mud this has no problem turning 4 tires and slinging earth into the hemisphere.
