For me, yes, it's an appearance thing. I haven't liked 4 doors since I was a kid. If a 68 Chevelle or a 66 Fairlane doesn't get a free pass, a 202X Bronco sure as shit is not getting a free pass. That said, I do like the shorter wheel base and feel for a daily driver, that short wheel base is superior as it's quite handy in a parking lot.
I love the look of the 4 door 6g and the Wrangler Unlimited vs the 2 door. I also love the look of a lot of 4 doors vs their 2 door counterparts. BMW...M3, M6 and M8...the Gran Coupe is visually far more appealing that the 2 door. The longer lines are exactly what those cars need. I could go on all day. Certain vehicles look better in a 2 door configuration and certain ones look better a bit longer.

I'll give you that. From a looks perspective, Ford got the proportions wrong on the 2 door. It should be just a few inches longer, so the rear side window proportions looked "right"

Why is 2 door a "must have" for you? Is it strictly an appearance thing or is there some sort of other preference there?
2 doors are just cooler. 4 doors are fine if you need a large family hauler and kids that don't have the dexterity/ flexibility or simply can't fit through the front seat to get to the back.

Neither my wife nor I are lightweight, but one of the first things we did at the dealership when looking at the 2 door was jump in the back seat to confirm - and yes, there is room to get cozy back there!

and yeah....aesthetically, having the '22 look similar to the '72 was a must for us.

That’s crazy drama talk honestly, saying it would be torture and it’s so slow, the torque is needed.
I understand “more power” I have been driving v8 for a long time. If it was an option I’d go for it.
The 2.3 has 300hp, I use normal drive mode and I’m getting 19mpg average tank driving to work. A light touch of throttle and your the first one off the line at every light without even trying, unless a sports car is racing you. Sport mode is even more responsive.
My 4door 2.3 moves very well, it’s no slouch and it’s more powerful and faster than all the other vehicles in its class even, those with bigger engines other than its brother the 2.7.
Out in the deep sand and in the mud this has no problem turning 4 tires and slinging earth into the hemisphere.
Not drama at all... most vehicles I've owned in the past 20 years were 400+hp, some 500+ and 1 even sitting at 600. I guess I'm spoiled. I enjoy the driving experience of my Wildtrak. I've added a CAI and will be adding charge pipes, a larger intercooler and a tune at some point. It drives nicely but it needs more juice. No doubt. Nothing with a 0-60 time over 5 seconds is fast or even quick...

I was eyeballing M5 builds the other night making 700+ hp and 0-60 in 2.8. My friend is trying to talk me into going that route as my next project. So if it isn't blazing fast, like, tear the pavement up underneath the wheels, it's boring. I want to feel my body pinned back against the seat and I want my passengers to feel uneasy. Lol.

It may not be for everyone but that's how I like it. I know that isn't what a Bronco is for and I accept that. I do want more power though. I enjoy the doors off, cruising around town or at the beach. I love the ability to go wherever I want to go, even with a foot of snow on the ground. I love the "tonka truck" look of the 6g Bronco. It's a fun vehicle. But give me a Godzilla swap and a supercharger and then I'll be happy.

I had a ‘73 in that color, well that was under several other colors, it was my trail truck.
Double green looks great, 2 doors rock but the family needed 4 right now. 2 door is next.

There's some truth to this. Sometimes it's good to not know what you're missing. My old 300 hp 4.6L Mustang was fast enough for me. I'd have probably bought a Coyote at some point, but I thought the original S197 design looked better (and I feel the old SOHC 4.6 sounds better than the DOHC Coyote). If I'd owned a 400HP Mustang, I might not feel that the 300hp 2.3 was adequate. But, to me, it's not a significant downgrade on what I drove before.

Yep you live in another dimension engine wise. That’s just not reasonable comparison for a stock bronco conversation.
I’d take a ride in the passenger seat, tears, fear, adrenaline and screams, what a good time. Haha it’s crazy how scary it is in the passenger seat vs driver.
Well, may your wish come true for a 7.3. I see the 7.3 has been fitted into Broncos now so maybe that’s next for you. I’d love to see it.

I won't do much more on the Bronco platform. I want a little more juice and then I'll be happy. I'll save my fast car itch for something lightweight and low to the ground. M3/M5/M6 or M8 Gran Coupe or a Z car are all at the top of my list now. I have a dark horse in the race now though. I'm seeing what can be done on the infiniti q50 platform and I loved my infiniti g35 so much that an updated version might be in the running for me. The motor is good and reliable out to nearly 800hp, so some bigger turbos, intakes, exhaust, downpipes, cooling and fuel help (pumps and injectors) and a not-too-aggressive tune will bring me to 650ish and still maintain some decent reliability. I want it on the road more than in the garage.

Better break over and tighter turning plus it’s not a bus…

Ah yes...the standard answer. Do you regularly drive on trails where breakover angle and tighter turns would make the use of a 4 door impossible? Typically the answer to that is no, but every once in a while there are actually some folks on forums who do that type of trail running.

Honestly, I'm not knocking it. Drive what makes you happy. Do I "need" 600hp? No...but it makes me happy.

Not impossible but they bang through and back up where I can just drive through…it makes a difference…the harder the trail the better…not something you are interested it I know…btw KoH winners are 2drs…

That's not a super common issue for the 2.7. It was very common in the 5.4,
the 4.6 and thr 3.5.
That's what we thought when buying the 2.7, but it still happens enough. Guess we got the short end of the stick and all the others that I've talked to with the problem on the 2.7.

Fact is it shouldn't even happen. It's a design flaw and QC issue that should be addressed by now on these engines.

Honestly though after having both, for daily driving and occasionally offroading, I don't really see the need for the 2.7. The 2.3 is more than adequate. If you plan on towing a lot or having your truck heavily loaded all the time, then it's a different story.

I have a feeling in the long run the 2.3 would be more desirable on the 2nd hand market as it's a simpler design without cam phaser issues or a wet belt.

I gotta mirror most others -- 7MT was the biggest reason I got a Bronco. Don't really care what engine it mated up to, but I'm glad it's fairly comparable!

But if I couldn't have got that, then the 2D v6. Although you can't get a 2Dr V6 anymore...

Certain vehicles look better in a 2 door configuration and certain ones look better a bit longer.
This 4-door prototype never took off thank God...!
