The sheetmetal under the flares is different, no way those large rear flares are just sitting on top of regular fenders. The tires sticking out 4” past the sasquash flares will look just as bad but in a different wayBesides being a couple inches taller and looking like a dually from the back, it doesn’t look that much bigger. I’m thinking I might try to order a Raptor and trade in my 22. Those flares still disgust me, but I can live with them. Hopefully there will be some other flare solution. I doubt they could be swapped with Sasquatch flares, but maybe something aftermarket that looks halfway decent.
The aesthetic takes time to normalize in your head. Once it does, you absolutely dig it. But it sounds like you aren't there yet so until then you'll continue to dislike them. Those flares still disgust me, but I can live with them. Hopefully there will be some other flare solution. If they haven't normalized in one's head since the release date, they ain't gonna. The aesthetic takes time to normalize in your head. Once it does, you absolutely dig it. But it sounds like you aren't there yet so until then you'll continue to dislike them.
Being that the post you responded to was from 2022, I would guess that they never "normalized" the bloated Braptor. No need to @ me. I don't like them as they are moar doors. The aesthetic takes time to normalize in your head. Once it does, you absolutely dig it. Wow, 1399 days since the last reply. That has got to be a 6g dead-post resurrection record! So huge they had to add 2 spare doors on it!
I really didn't like them when I first saw them. Especially when they were only available in black. I ordered mine to match the body color and even seeing them for the first time I still semi-cringed. Once you see them enough you begin to see the why in terms of what the hell the designers were thinking. If they haven't normalized in one's head since the release date, they ain't gonna.
If it was a 2-door Braptor, I could get used to the odd shaped fender flares because it is a Ford Performance vehicle. The aesthetic takes time to normalize in your head. Once it does, you absolutely dig it. But it sounds like you aren't there yet so until then you'll continue to dislike them.
Where do you stand on the GTD?If it was a 2-door Braptor, I could get used to the odd shaped fender flares because it is a Ford Performance vehicle.
I didn't consider a GT500 due to the auto tranny and the front facia... I prefer the looks of the GT350 front facia, manual tranny & FPC much more, but I have a lot of respect for the GT500 due to its performance superiority. Much like the Braptor, I respect its performance superiority.
I purchase vehicles based on what I want to look at everyday in my garage first, then performance, options, exhaust, etc. comes next.
Obviously, exhaust was not a consideration in my Badlands consideration.
Great Question...!Where do you stand on the GTD?
