Just wondering what system people are running for a remote start on a Manual car that has built in safety features in the event one forgets and leaves it in gear. I almost always put it in neutral when I park but you know murphys law being what it is.

I cannot find the thread but there was someone that I believe did it with a factory remote on a manual transmission and some programming.

I don't know about murphey, but Murphy often makes an appearance when one least expects that bastard...as much of a nuisance as Lucas, Prince of Darkness.

I was raised to leave it in gear and to set the parking brake. I've had instances where parking brake alone has not held some vehicles on a sloped drive...but maybe these electronic parking brakes do a better job...

I feel like I looked a while back about using forescan to open that up and while you could change the setting they couldn’t get it to work. Maybe I’ll have another look into that. I assume that allowed it to work through the app. I need looooooong range start.

Spelling corrected for murphy lollll

I hear ya on the parking break thing.. Ive been driving manuals for 29 years at this point, had to think about that number for a second lol. My first one being a ford bronco 2.. man i miss that thing. Ive never had an issue with the parking break knock on wood lol. But yeah Murphy is a bastard for sure lol

No way in hell I’ll trust the electronic e-brake again. Lost my 2021 due to a fault.
Condolences...

I had one on the F-Type and never trusted it.

Electric also makes it a challenge to shave MPH when trying not to show brake lights...allegedly...so I've heard.. from a friend's cousin's neighbor's sister...

Not with a manual, it doesn't... Downshift, engine brake ;)

There was a thread a couple years ago. I think it's been nuked. Even back then he refused to say how he did it for liability reasons.

I have an automatic trans 4dr and the rear tires alone cannot hold my Bronco on my sloped driveway, when parked in 2H, e-brake applied and facing down slope.

I walked out my house one evening to find my Bronco parked at the bottom of my sloped driveway, with 2 perfect skid marks trailing behind it from the rear tires. I went in to view my ring camera, which is setup to snap interval photos every couple of seconds....I viewed the time-lapse and witnessed my truck slooooooly slide down my driveway over a 3 hour period.

The forward shift in weight takes all of the weight off the rear tires where it's needed to grip and hold. Parking in 4H or parking facing up hill while in 2H/e-brake applied solves this...for obvious reasons.

Wow, I just noticed for the first time that there’s a dash warning in place if you start the manual transmission Bronco w/o the e-brake on. It said something like “Warning: Electronic E-Brake is not engaged”

Maybe there’s a manufacturer that can tap into that.

Interesting. Wonder if that's a 2025 thing.

Must be a 2025 thing - mine definitely does not do that.

It will warn me if the parking brake ~is~ engaged though, but it's just one of those popups.

Yeah, it certainly didn’t do that in my 2021. I also always pull that thing even at the atm and drive thru. So, that’s why it came as a surprise when it popped up.
