Down 15-20% power at 115k miles from normal wear? Errrrr, no. You would be ripping through oil if you had enough blow by to cause a decrease of 50 HP.At 115K miles you are probably down 15-20 % on power due to cylinder and ring wear, especially if not using 100% synthetic or changing every 3000-5000 miles on 2.3 that's dumping raw fuel into the oil constantly unless have at least a dirty side catch can, and known to have block issues unless have the upgraded HPP block or new generation.
Coil packs, fuel system injectors, pumps etc etc usually tired as well along with complete suspension system and all chassis bushings and seals....start getting nickel and dimed to death on all chassis stuff ets...only matters if keep vehicles well maintained though VS fixing upon complete failure.
It's a Ford, not a Mazda or a Jag which are both far superior in build quality and relative price, eg. how much does a new 5000lb Jag SUV cost?
Look at it as opportunity to upgrade with built engine and overall renewal or get a new vehicle at deep discount this time of year
I have different maint perspective using 100% synthetic oil every 3,000 miles, other drive train every 20,000 miles, new dampers every 30,000 miles. New anything ball joints 40,000 miles and by 60,000 miles on the off chance I want to keep it past 60,000 miles and rive it hard when I want
Who owned Jag and Mazda for a significant period of time?
I have a 2010 Land Rover LR4 comprised of JLR and Ford parts. After swapping the engine in one and owning this one, quality is not a term that comes to mind.
