At 115K miles you are probably down 15-20 % on power due to cylinder and ring wear, especially if not using 100% synthetic or changing every 3000-5000 miles on 2.3 that's dumping raw fuel into the oil constantly unless have at least a dirty side catch can, and known to have block issues unless have the upgraded HPP block or new generation.

Coil packs, fuel system injectors, pumps etc etc usually tired as well along with complete suspension system and all chassis bushings and seals....start getting nickel and dimed to death on all chassis stuff ets...only matters if keep vehicles well maintained though VS fixing upon complete failure.

It's a Ford, not a Mazda or a Jag which are both far superior in build quality and relative price, eg. how much does a new 5000lb Jag SUV cost?

Look at it as opportunity to upgrade with built engine and overall renewal or get a new vehicle at deep discount this time of year:)

I have different maint perspective using 100% synthetic oil every 3,000 miles, other drive train every 20,000 miles, new dampers every 30,000 miles. New anything ball joints 40,000 miles and by 60,000 miles on the off chance I want to keep it past 60,000 miles and rive it hard when I want
Down 15-20% power at 115k miles from normal wear? Errrrr, no. You would be ripping through oil if you had enough blow by to cause a decrease of 50 HP.

Who owned Jag and Mazda for a significant period of time? 🤔

I have a 2010 Land Rover LR4 comprised of JLR and Ford parts. After swapping the engine in one and owning this one, quality is not a term that comes to mind.

Some people don't mind high milage cars and in many cases that's all that the math works on (rightfully so) and better to spend $2-3k yr on repairs since new vehicles are total waste of money unless capture significant tax write offs or have Champaign money.

I'm just saying the whole vehicle is tired, time for regeneration with better engine, end to end wear components replacement, or a wrecker engine, especially since new Broncos are so expensive with very limited options and stupid bundling forcing you to $60K +.

We still don't know history, oil used or intervals so hard to blame on Ford since ecoboosts 2.0 and 2.3 are know to run forever with proper maint. They had some engineering defects mainly the head block coolant ports but usually it was cylinder failure. Builders opt for 2.0 blocks or the ridiculous Ford Racing block that can handle 650+ HP.

Have heard of holed blocks with serious tunes (450HP ++) but all lot of the rotating internals are Forged and proven on Mustang Ford tune to 350HP and 380 tq if I recall correctly.

If I wasn't getting tax write offs I'd ditch Bronco and just use Uber and rent cars (across the street) for long distance and keep plated and insured dirt bike(s) but I live and work in city center with Mountains only 45 min away.

OP seems to be rural with so many vehicles with high milage....we had same on the farm, along with multiple bulk fuel tanks of low tax farm fuel.

Thanks. Solid perspective and don’t dispute. We used the hell out it for work and did do full synthetic at 3-5K and tranny transfer at 70k.
We appreciate the perspective as we fell in love driving it for work because it worked perfectly in the shitty places we have to go for work. Decision time.
Id say with that extreme duty use a wrecker engine would keep it working hard for a long time.....so much room in the engine bay it's no more than 14 hours total with long blocks.

That would be me...91 NA acquired in 2000 and then a '03 X-Type 2.5 manual and a '03 XK8 coupe. I got the X-Type in '14 with 100K and I acquired the XK8 after dad passed- it was his retirement gift to himself and had about 80K when he passed. I've put a lot of highway miles on since then.

I've changed the clutch twice in the Miata, once when the granny grenaded so I put one in from a Black and Tan. No major work on the XK8. Being born after Lucas, Prince of Darkness was deposed helped...

But we digress...

I was implying that Ford owned Mazda and Jaguar for quite a while. Thank you for the backstory though!

Yes we do. Read the OP again. He said:

- OEM Dealer Oil change every 3.5K miles
- OEM Dealer Transmission and Transfer Case fluids changed early at 75k Miles
“OEM Dealer oil change” also indicates correct OEM spec oil was used. I’d say the blame lies with Ford for this specific engine failure, pointing to a manufacturing defect.

Good luck with Ford warranting it but you never know if they serviced it.

You will need to call around local junk yards for one out of a wrecked one. There are at least 10 on ebay that can be shipped. Looks to be around $5000 OBO for a low mileage one.

Actually I did spec that all service was OEM Ford dealer, Oil was no more than 3.5K milers and tranny/transfer was done early at 70k Miles

Our use was a combo of 60% Highway to work sites and Snow,Mud, SLuch, Ice and Sand at work sites.

Oh no, it was a joke! BMB has an absolutely sick Bronco, but it is a truly exceptional vehicle build that no mere mortal should attempt!

For the use, if Ford won't help, probably find a motor in a pull a part and slap it in. If it dies time to ditch the ride. I think, unfortunately for you, good for others, this is a rare exception.
