While driving from CO to MN last week I stopped for gas in the middle of nowhere. Randomly met a guy who started the conversation with “nice truck”. We exchanged friendly pleasantries and he went on to say that he “redesigned” the transit rack system for the hard tops. I misunderstood at first and inquired if he helped redesign the molds for the tops. Nope, he made the rack our tops sit on while in shipping. Apparently the prior rack system had been warping the tops. Super random but kinda cool encounter. He was cool.

…and yes, I politely worked in a “yeah, my hard top is not great” comment before I figured out what he was talking about.

Update: Yesterday. Filling up the car at Costco, lady next to me says...

Funny you should post that today, when my wife just said hours ago, "Are you looking forward to the BYOB?". I said yes and then she replied, "I hope we don't damage it."

I told her the only thing we will probably do is scratch the skid plates.

Yeah, I mentioned that a guy at an ORV park said to me "That's a really nice truck to have out here." I think what he meant by that was, "Nice Bronco, but you are an idiot."

I mean ... that applies to the entire BRaptor / Raptor line up, right? ... or so it seems.

On the flip side, I went back to the stock 30's for the time being ... whatever that might imply.

As long as @THE_SAVSQCH waves at me, that's all that matters.

Those people should go to Super Celebration West.

What he did not think about:
-Its the whole point of a Bronco .
-I've dreamed of off roading a Bronco for about 50 years.
-I bought used and probably paid way less than he expected.
-Even at Bronco MSRP, there are top end SXS that cost as much as a new Bronco. Wouldn't think twice about seeing those out there, and you can't drive that crap to the grocery store. Not to mention you need a trailer and tow vehicle for the SXS if you don't live on the fringes of society.
-I'm too old and don't have the time to wait for the Bronco to weather naturally into an off road rig through a slow process of rock chips, door dings, sun fading, and maybe a fender bender or two!

I have the 4 Door Badlands in Area 51. Other than that, nothing lol. I'm rarely in town though.

Here in East Tennessee they are on the road alot. Every weekend i see them at the Sonic Drive in and all the area restaurants.
Heck, i got passed in my Bronco on a state highway here by two SxS’s and two guys with mullets on a dirt bike!

Or it could of been gals. Both had boobs …. But i also saw a beard. . I’m so confused

I don't really get the restrictions and laws. I'm certainly no less protected in a SXS or quad than I am on my street bikes. And I'd be willing to wager a decent SXS or quad being operated responsibly would be safer than some of the POS cars I see on the street running with no brake lights and 3 doughnut spares.
