That makes sense now. Wondering if a full electric Bronco, maintaining the same form factor, departure angles, etc., would be both much more powerful, energy efficient and cheaper to produce and maintain? I don´t care for the politics debate of electric vs. gas, really, I am just genuinely wondering if that would be the case.

I paid $66,000 for my 2 door Bronco Badlands 2025, 2-3 Ecoboost, with marine vinyl seats. I like the car a lot, it is what i wanted, but it seems like a lot of money for an engine that needs premium fuel only and maybe for having to install the protune package...

I agree it's a lot of money for a Bronco. I got my 2025 Big Bend 4-door with Black Diamond Package for $47,750 out-the-door. It's got a rear locker, mud tires, rock rails, and the same marine grade vinyl seats. For the kind of off-roading I do, it's perfect. And the Big Bend's get a Sport Mode and the throttle mapping is perfect in Sport Mode. For some odd reason, Badlands don't have Sport Mode. The Badlands comes with an upgraded suspension and 33 inch tires. If I ever want to, there's a lot of aftermarket options for Bronco suspensions.

Bronco is already on the heavy side at 5000lbs. Going fully electric would push it well over 6000lbs. I'm sure the power and torque of the motor(s) would overcome the weight issue in regards to acceleration but these they will feel like driving tanks on the roads and the range will likely be poor without changing the aerodynamics.

I agree. An electric or Hybrid Bronco would be too heavy and probably disappoint in range/fuel economy. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost with the 10-speed has plenty of power and in Sport Mode it rocks. I have no issue pulling out into tight holes in fast moving traffic. In my opinion, most people overpay for too much Bronco.

Sorry to bring the thread back onto-topic, but any recent updates on this? We should be picking up our 2.3 Badlands later today.

I was (believe it or not) impressed by how Ford Performance eventually handled the 2021-2024 2.3 7MT tune refunds due to lack of rev matching, and plan to be among the first on the bandwagon for the 2025 2.3 tune when available (for our new vehicle).

I wouldn't expect to see it for a bit. 2025 has a relatively brand-new 2.3L engine which never has had a performance tune released for it. First time that engine was used was in the 2024 Mustang, so if we see it come out for the Mustang then logically the Bronco probably isn't that far behind. But so far no tune has been released yet.

Joke’s on me: We swapped the i4 for an i4 after having enjoyed the reliability and lower recall level versus the V6. Hadn’t dug in to realize it was a brand new engine. Fingers crossed!

It's not exactly brand new as it's been in the Mustang for a few years now and Explorer after that. For whatever reason Ford Performance is slow to bring this out. I imagine a lot of Mustang owners have been patiently waiting for some time now.

I’ve been sitting at the edge of my seat as well. Hopefully soonish! Interesting thing to consider while we await responses from the insiders…

• Peak torque = 400 lb-ft @ 3,500 RPM - a 50 lb-ft increase!!!”

Frankly: I’d be perfectly content with (and fully expect) the 330/385 that we got with the old 2.3, but wouldn’t it be nice to see the full bump to 350/400?

I like those numbers! I'm REALLY interested in the optimized shifting. The auto has weird shift decisions to me.

If I had the 2.3 I'd get this tune immediately. If the power curve is anything like the last 2.3 tune or HPP 2.3 the low end pull is great.

I will get the procal installed on my 2.7 very soon, for far less benefit I might add.

Just got mine installed on my base 2.3 10A, it really wakes the engine up and you can really feel the difference in low end torque.

Just talked to Eric at Ford Performance. They were hoping to have the PowerKit available by the end of the year. It got pushed back until 1st quarter 2026.
