My 2025 badlands sasquatch has been doing since purchase too. I notice it more in the first 10 minutes of driving

Hi new here but this forum has been very helpful. Just wanted to chime in I have a 25 badlands 2.3 manual with no chirping. Maybe it is auto transmission related?

Is it worse for you all at cold start by chance? Mine seems to go away after the vehicle warms up.
The noise always goes away as the vehicle warms up within a few minutes of driving. Its just cold starts for me where all the chirping happens.

I still can’t find this to save my life. I can hear it from under the hood too but it sounds more muffled so confident it’s inside. I’m willing to do whatever it takes at this point to figure this out.

For me the chirping is from under the dash on the driver's side. Maybe it's under the hood as well but I haven't bothered to listen outside.

There are a couple threads on here and the Ranger forum. The noise is the Wastegate actuator on the turbo cycling itself. This is why you can hear it simply by unlocking/waking up your truck. Other than annoying, it is benign and should go away once the engine is warm.
There was a video of a guy who filmed the noise from the inside of the cabin and then filmed a video of the wastegate actuator cycling to prove that’s where it comes from. This also makes sense as to why it can be replicated by accelerating when you first start the truck.

That would make a ton of sense! Any idea why the brake press would trigger it? Just curious. Also, what happens if it just disappears form the truck? Asking for a friend.

I am not smart enough to know why the break would trigger it… Maybe the trucks knows to cycle it again upon the break press??šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø and I’m not sure about it disappearing either. Seems like it might just be an annoying quirk that is there all the time but who knows!

Sorry, haha. I was joking about what would happen if the waste gate disappeared. I’m irrationally annoyed by this chirp noise.

I see that now my apologies šŸ¤¦šŸ» and I was annoyed at first too but since it’s benign I forgot about it and really don’t even notice it anymore. Definitely spiraled me at first though.

The chirping noise for me is 100% under the dash. Now that could be relays under the dash triggering the actuator but the noise is twofold and not just from under the hood. I don’t think it’s a problem but it’s odd in this day and age to have such noisy operation like this.

You may be experiencing something different then. However I thought the same thing until I realized I can hear the noise from outside the car simply by unlocking the car and listening. Others did a deeper dive and found the turbo wastegate actuator to be the cause.
