When you start letting out the clutch the computer revs the engine up for a few seconds to assist you in not stalling it, but I feel this does more harm than good when you're used to a normal manual feel. I can't seem to find info on this anywhere, but does anyone know if this can be disabled in forscan?

It just makes it annoying during technical starts and harder to feel the engine.

I kinda like this feature. In traffic I don't have to touch the gas. Lol. But in soft sand, or climbing those pesky parking lot curbs, I just lift the clutch a little higher than I normally would. You can still feel the lag once you get used to it. It'll consistently jump the RPM's so it's just something to get used to.

I’ve just discovered this, my Bronco is brand new. I’ve been googling how to turn it off without success. I bought the Bronco because I missed having a manual transmission as a daily driver and figured if I got a fast sports car I would be speeding and doing burn-outs. The Bronco gives me a fun vehicle with a stick that should keep me out of trouble. The Initial clutch engagement is a big part of the fun in driving a manual transmission. There are many ways to launch a manual from a stop and I want full control. Edit: just googled some more. The Mustang has it, Tacoma has it, BMWs have it, Nissan Has it, Volvo has it, VWs have it. Who doesn’t have it….. Jeep Wrangler!!! Manufactures tout it as an assist but I think it may be for fuel savings. I’m guessing it allows them to put a lighter flywheel on the engine. It seems to me a lot of tech is driven by meeting emissions standards..

It's never bothered me , and as noted, it's great in traffic, especially with the crawler gear.
I've done the traffic crawl a number of times up some pretty decent grades without having to touch the gas.

Things like leaving a large field type parking lot after a large event...

But back on topic, I have no idea if it can be tuned out.
Come to think of it, the thing self re-starts if you do manage to kill it during a launch, so I suppose it is woven very deeply into the programming and controls.

I've always had only manual tranny cars and trucks - since my first one in 1974. And every one was a little different and initially required a brief learning experience in engaging/disengaging the clutch and shifting the gears. After that it just becomes natural and you don't even think about it - you just have fun. 😊

Hmm... I don't recall this on mine, but I've been running with ProCal rev matching for a while, so possible I just forgot about it.

You can try the old Rev Matching combo to see if that turns it off. Rev Matching has been gone for a while (it was only available with ProCal, and that was removed for MY23 and later last year)

ProCal Rev Matching: How to Deactivate
1) Key must be in the on position (It does not matter if the engine is running).
2) Vehicle must be at a full stop
3) Hold the brake pedal down
4) Hold the speed control “-” button down until the tachometer reads 8K to indicate the input has been received (about 3 seconds).
5) Release the speed control “-” button. The tachometer will read 2k for 2 seconds to indicate the feature has been turned off.
6) You may release the brake pedal when safe.
7) The feature is deactivated and the vehicle ready to use.

I've never noticed. I learned to drive on a manual and have owned only manuals since 1983.

Slowly let out the clutch and watch the tach. You should be able to notice it.

At least it doesn’t feel like a Honda Accord V6 manual with the dreaded “throttle hang”!! That’s just awful and purely for emissions reduction.

Go into the settings and turn off the hill hold assistant. It’ll stop that from happening!

I don't watch the tach when starting off. I listen to the engine and pay attention to how the vehicle is reacting. I look where I'm going instead of at the tach.

There is no need to watch the tach when starting off.

Oh boy, are we about to get back into that "But I need to watch the tach" debate again haha

I figured that only controlled the brakes, so I didn't think twice about it, but I should turn that off anyways. Thanks for the thought I'll try it out.
