2025 B&O… upgrade?

I had a 21 with B&O and had planned to upgrade but never did…

Still, I have a kicker sub and some replacement speakers that I never installed in the 21.

I now have a 25 and am thinking of at least installing the kicker sub.

what upgrades are worth the effort? (I have read about upgrading the rear speakers to 6.5s).

should I install the sub and add a dedicated amp for the sub?

Upgrade all the speakers and add 2 subs?

upgrade all speakers and add a single 5 channel for speakers and sub?

is it my understanding that the new B&O has DSP? How does that factor in?

I only know basics about audio so any suggestions are welcome!

The 2025 Bronco has an all-new DSP amplifier, and frankly it's a LOT better than the 2021-2024 DSP amplifier.

There's lots of options as to what you could do, really depends on what you feel is lacking. The only true limit is your wallet. In my opinion, to make any upgrade worth it with the new B&O system, you'll probably need new amplifiers and/or a new DSP.

I don't hate the regular speakers, just figured since I have them, and if they would be worth upgrading, I may as well take advantage of the ones I already bought.

With enough money and will-power... probably. But not easily.

(Tbh... once you factor in labor costs, it'll might be more economical to trade in your Wildtrak for a 2025+.)

Eh... very personal opinion sorta question.

Upgrading the dash speakers would probably be a little beneficial. My hunch is the kick panels and rear pods are probably fine the way they are, unless you install an amp for the other speakers as well.

According to the folks at MoBridge they are "working" on a 2025 solution. Among the differences between 21 - 24 & 25 are in 25 "supposedly" EVERY channel goes thru the B&O amp (rear pods and center channel). In 21 - 24 the front dash (minus the center channel) and kicks were amplified thru the B&O amp. In both cases the sub is amped.
In 25 the rear pods and center are treated to the "upgraded speaker" possibly a coax (that's how Ford is counting more speakers", in 21 - 24 the dash corners are the "upgraded speaker" possibly a coax and the center and rear pods are the old paper cone we've all come to know and hate.

Having a '24 Raptor I can say that the B&O is not bad. I made significant improvements to it by upgrading all the 4" speakers to Infinity 4032s & and the kicks to JBL601CF (did not use the tweeters). This has improved the system GREATLY, all for a whopping 212.00$. I am considering a sub improvement, but that is another issue.

I also want to say that this will NOT annoy the neighbors or rattle the windows of the car next to you, it should provide more than enough volume and clarity for listening while driving alone.

I'd look into a speaker upgrade (Efficiency & Clarity) and see what happens when you are done.

Dash speakers are critical t9 the front stage sound hey high quality coax and woofer.

I have upgraded all my speakers est USD 600 and sounds amazing up till level 22 or so, though will spend another 300 or so plus a better sub 300 so I'll be in 1200 on speakers alone.

If not good enough I'll get AtoB module and connect my Audison AP 8.9 and Kenwood XR 1001.1.

@RagnarKon - quick question for you: Is it known/confirmed that there is no "simple swap" ability to change out the Generation 1 B&O amp for the new Generation 2 amp in the 2025+ ? Its more of a curiosity for me, not necessarily something I am looking to do at the moment,

Correct, a simple swap is not possible.

The new setup has an entirely new A2B chip. (A2B is the digital audio protocol used on the B&O package.)

I just changed out all of my speakers with Rockford Fosgates. I also changed the rear pods to new 6.5’s.they are currently all still running on the factory non B&O amp and factory head unit. I just purchased a 12 inch Stinger tailgate mount box and am debating on going with a Mon block just the subs, changing out the factory amp for a new one for the highs and mids and a mono block for the sub, or going with one 5 channel amo for everything. I’m currently waiting for SEMA next week for hopefully some company will unveil a wiring plug and play packet for the 2025’s.

I forgot to also say that I used Forscan after installing all the new speakers and turned off the factory EQ which made everything sound 100% better!

I agree I would like more bass for sure. Didn’t realize 25 was different… guess I have more time to be saving up until things get figured out. I definitely want a better sub in the stock(ish) location.
