Most likely an alignment issue. Loosen bolts on top of roll bar, push tray towards front of vehicle and tighten the bolts back up. Check the side brackets for loose bolts as well.mine rattles![]()

Is it empty? Is it something being carried in it causing it to rattle (metal on metal) ? You can probably adjust it some & solve the rattle. Also don't forget to tighten it up again every now & then.mine rattles![]()
What rattled on mine were the pins. I was thinking of plasti dipping them but ended up just wrapping them with electrical tape. Problem solved. And I can still pull the pins whenever I want no problem.mine rattles![]()
Here’s mine with my hard top off and the attic tray in the up position to hopefully help with a visual reference.Any chance someone with a soft top has a side view shot with the top down and attic up?

is the tray below the drop down the one that flips up or is it fixed in place?I have one and don’t think there’s anything “flimsy” about it. When you load it with 40# of stuff, it’s easy to grab in the center, lift and latch. When you go to unlatch it, you’re reaching in, arms extended and spread wide apart, pressing the latches and letting it down w/o dropping it. That is difficult for this old man. If you’re young with lots of upper body strength, not a problem. So I unlatch one side, then the other and lower it down. There is enough play in the hinge pins and latches that when one side is unlatched and dropped down there just is a very little bit of twist in the basket. In the second pic, the right side is unlatched and hanging on its own, perhaps an 1“ below the latch.
IMHO, making it stronger so it doesn’t twist at all just adds unnecessary weight and cost. I’m really happy with it and as you can see I have the lower shelf too. YMMV

It flips up. More expensive than the fixed shelf, but worth every penny if you haul bulky things occasionally. E.g., someone gave me a decent size knock-off big green egg for hauling it away. Flipped the shelf up, took the egg out of the stand, put the very heavy SOB in, secured it to the four tie downs, took it home.is the tray below the drop down the one that flips up or is it fixed in place?
How is the access with the top in place from the tailgate, please? The hardtop obviously has plenty of access with the flip-up window. Our soft tops would appear to be an exercise in frustration. TIA.Found another benefit of the flip-down attic shelf -- I installed it with the @Dirtydog soft top headliner and now have the ability to flip back the headliner and run it strapped to the shelf rather than having to completely remove it when I want the open air feeling.
I just have 1 bungee around it here but it was all low-speed stuff. Add 2 more and I'd have no concern running down the highway like that.
