Sorry about the fender bender, and I can see that you were braking by looking at your trail sight, you can clearly see they were dipping down, but come on man, you are in a beast of a raptor with 37s, put that beast in the median and smile showing your capability you had at your finger tips. Missed oppurtunity to show off and flex, but I understand, last second decisions are crazy. Glad it was just something so minor.

The problem with dashcams is that things look much farther away then they actually are in reality.

This is honestly no joke.

Around my area, if you leave too much space you invite people to cut in front of you just like that. You either have to leave a LOT of room and just expect to constantly get pushed to the back of the line, or you have to ride the razor's edge of too close but close enough.

I finally decided it was better for my sanity to ride in the far right lane and let everyone pass me. I have passed untold number of wrecks by adopting that lifestyle.


@THE_SAVSQCH you apparently rub some people the wrong way here and I think that's why this thread is largely critical of your driving, but regardless of that I hope your repairs are quick and easy and that insurance covers it because fuck the lane-squirrels who dart back and forth between lanes like that.

People on here are absolute idiots. I have ZERO fault here already claimed by insurance companies. Zero paint structure damage to raptor and you can CLEARLY see nosedive of Raptor. Hates can hate man, its funny. All because a post to wave lol. Its a pain in ass but ill tell you what the auto system never alerted at all not once. Would have been much worse if I didnt have a bull bar on which helped. The actual impact was about 25 mph no airbags etc. Funny how I was last one NO ticket yet 3 others did. That ditch on left is much steeper than appears. Only choice was to hit but make sure dont kill anyone. Raptor did NOT get squirrelly it stayed true but man they should have upgraded brakes it just kept going lol

Dude honestly Im keeping Raptor forever (its paid off and im just going eventually drive to ground) so the Minor on carfax doesnt bother me.

Has ZERO paint work to be done, even the PPF was not affected. Only the bumper and bull bar and skid plates got scratched.

I know ford body manager and insurance has already given him what they think etc. Even if insurance makes it shitshow their problem.

my 1st accident ever and I just want the bumper replaced and all that and be on my way. Just shows how sick the bronco is where zero damage besides bumper and the bracket that holds it etc. Zero body panels shifted etc so im sleeping ok.

If the gal did not cut into your lane, at that speed you would have hit the car in front of you. I doubt very much that a Braptor can decelerate from 25 mph to zero in one car length safely.

Without knowing the state this accident was in I can’t quote the applicable driving law, but as I noted above, I don’t think there’s any way the bronco is held liable. In every state the driver is entitled to a reasonable space in front of him or her to operate. Again, here, the other car cut in front of the bronco with very little room to spare, and then immediately hit his brakes, slamming into the car in front. Really it seems even before the car had a chance to straighten out. Will the insurance companies try to apportion some liability to the bronco? possibly, because that’s how they operate, they try to settle things without incurring cost of litigation. But with that dashcam video, if the bronco owner pushes back the insurance company will give in, largely for the same reason that it’s not worth it to fight the bronco owner. And hypothetically if it ever did go to court I can’t see the Bronco owner losing.

When most vehicles were braking, I paused the video and it's a 7 seconds and the crash happens at 13 seconds, so yes if the time on your video is right it's was 6 seconds (the trunk hasn't buckled yet).
