Run front roof panel without rear.

You can definitely just run the two fronts and mid panel. I’ve personally done it at 80mph and they aren’t going anywhere.

Just put the front and mid panels on. Was hoping I could leave it on the driveway in the rain and just let the truck get washed out. But the mid panel doesn’t quite cover the rear seats. Rain will stream in all over them. I guess I could fold them down. Oh well.

I'm going to try this on my 2Dr as well....driving into the sun can be unpleasant, especially when it's 90+ degrees... 3 of the 4 attachment points remain, if the top is off, so I can't imagine there would be any way for the panels to come off without extreme force, like a collision or something.

Changing gears, with the hardtop on, has anyone run down the road with the rear hatch glass open? Wondering if that might improve airflow with windows and/or front panels and/or doors off?

I would expect that, just from a liability perspective, and a warranty out for Ford. But I still think, and others have proven, it's pretty secure. I think it beats a fabric cover flapping around.

I run my 2 door in that configuration all the time. Never had any problems. Daily driver so it has seen plenty of highway time with no issues.

Are you referring to the roof panels, or the rear glass.....or both?

I don't yet have a hoist/lift system so top-off is a bit more effort solo. But when it's off, I've traveled 100's of miles with just the two front panels:

That's awesome! How is the rear glass....pretty stable, even on rougher roads? Not flopping around too much? Does it smooth out the air flow in the cab?

I suspect the struts will need replacing sooner than if I didn't drive that way, but it does allow for better airflow.
