What kind of mustang? My Mustang shifts fine in manual, but if I try and use it in an automatic mode, it doesn't seem to shift and eventually hits the rev limiter.
What am I doing wrong here?

Lol okay that’s why I was asking. I was so confused for a minute because the only one I saw in your signature was the GT350 and I knew they didn’t come in autoIt's a Shelby GT350...
.... but I can't do this to you @Ducati1098 , you have been a great source of technical assistance from what I have seen and read. There has never been an automatic offered in the 2015 - 2020 GT350's... manual only, but you already knew that.
The hint to my humor was in my signature.
Exactly what about is it that you don't like? It seems to work fine to me.I was trying to confirm this earlier today, glad I found this thread. But why the !@#$% wouldn't Ford set it up to operate like the F150? The way it is currently set is beyond stupid. Would have loved to have sat in on that meeting....I wonder if a tune could set it to F150 style? Hoping Livernois cracks the code soon....
It should hold the selected top gear in D, instead of reverting back to full auto mode & upshifting after a period of time. I don't have a Bronco yet, but this is how it is described to work, which is stupid IMO. Drive a 10AT F150, and you will understand how much better select-shift is set up.Exactly what about is it that you don't like? It seems to work fine to me.
On the F series you can select an upper limit that the trans will use. As in select 7 on winding mountain roads or when towing and it will not shift above 7. Or, select 4 off road and it will not shift above 4. It's very handyExactly what about is it that you don't like? It seems to work fine to me.
Yeah, that's a better way to describe it. I literally use it 100% of the time on my 2.7 F150. If you are engaged, you can improve FE & driveability considerably with proper gear selection vs conditions. Really disappointed the Bronco works differently. On the F series you can select an upper limit that the trans will use. I run in Sport on moderate speed mountain roads and sometimes off road, it kinda mimics the range limit and eliminates the unresponsive feel. If I use it off road I get briefly confused when finally shifting to 4L, because it won't allow 4L in Sport.Yeah, that's a better way to describe it. It doesn't hold it because, for the most part, it's not needed on a Bronco. It has a low payload and a low tow rating, so the chances of it needing to 'hold' a lower gear for long periods of time are rare. I don't necessarily agree with this strategy, but it is how it is programmed. It should hold the selected top gear in D, instead of reverting back to full auto mode & upshifting after a period of time. It's not just for towing or hauling heavy, it's advantageous for normal driving, for the engaged driver who likes to pay attention. It improves FE & overall driveability. I use it all the time in my F150, even when not towing or hauling. Big time whiff on Fords part for not tuning it as such.It doesn't hold it because, for the most part, it's not needed on a Bronco. If you DO need to hold a lower gear longer, you have the option of shifting to manual.
