Only peripherally related to my Bronco, I got my TRX4 rebuild rolling after a sporadically lengthy overhaul. Carbon fiber chassis, sensored brushless motor, front 3-link converted to 4-link, steering servo mounted to the front axle, and the new Bronco body installed. I still need to figure out bumpers.

In doing so I inadvertently lost a debate with my wife. Tamiya PS-19 "Camel Yellow" is more orange than my "Cyber Orange" Bronco.

She won. The truck's yellow.

Can you still keep the clipless body system with that frame?

My son's is looking ROUGH and I want to upgrade it a little for his bday but aside from the blown out shocks and him burning through motors it's been pretty damn reliable.

Things I learned:

Blues are the limit for a stock Wildtrak.
It needs an antirock front sway desperately.
Rock rails are not nearly as important on this truck as it is the Tacoma due to the frame and other shit hitting first before the rails as well as the short wheelbase.
My trans skid is a total banana already.

If you're talking about the magnet mounts, yeah, they'll work. I used through-body posts with pins because I tend to beat the hell out of my stuff as well. I treat it way more like a basher than I should, usually trying to keep up with my kids' Arrma Granite 3s trucks. My stock frame rails were all kinds of tweaked.

I had to locate longer body mount posts for this chassis to work with the Bronco body. Amazon to the rescue, as usual.

It's designed to be lightweight with a low center of gravity but I like big dumb batteries that run forever so I primarily gained ground clearance with this upgrade.

I am talking about the TRX4 body system on the Bronco with the interior body frame and the clips that you can do and undo by the wheel wells:

Nope, I didn't have that on mine. I bought mine as a kit to assemble and it came without a body.

I've been through several iterations over the years, the first of which matched my first Bronco from back in my HS days (don't have a photo handy), and then I did a blue F150 kinda close to another truck I had awhile back.

I enjoy the process of upgrading and modifying RC stuff. WAY cheaper than doing the same on the real thing lol

Ah gotcha, my parents got him the RTR and I have been pleasantly surprised with the durability. He beats the ever living crap out of the thing. Now my Tail Honcho that I am making more like my Tacoma I keep upgrading and breaking, upgrading and breaking, and I try to be gentle lol.

These replace the stock base steelies with Falken Wildpeak MT 255/85r16.

The Falkens are truly great tires. Mine got a little loud at the 30k rotation but still had a good amount of tread. Just didn’t want to deal with the noise since we make a lot of weekend trips to Northern Michigan.

I switched to the 17” wheels because I’ve always liked them, and the base steelies were starting to develop quite a bit of rust.

Eager to see how the KO3 do off road. Headed to the park to test them out this weekend. Will report back with a comparison.

I’m not driving a two-door, I’m drivng a four-door…!!!
