Cut a pool noodle to the length of the bottom of the doors when you put them in the bags. nice bit of extra padding for them

Do NOT and I cannot express enough... DO NOT drop the door when reinstalling. My only gripe about the Bronco design is the square peg/hole alignment for the doors and lack of alignment (not counting the stupid pin) for the lower hinge. 2 door models have bigger doors and can get a little heavy. If youre not comfortable definitely get help.

Thereโ€™s a long (top) and short (bottom)bolt front and rear no need to mark where they go itโ€™s pretty obvious. I store them in the zipper part of the tool kit. Havenโ€™t used the bottom bolts on either since the first time I removed them. (The Jeep didnโ€™t need any bolts but the Bronco needs to be held down because of the detents in the hinges). I slip the Ford bags over them before removal and just lean them against a wall. I do get help to re-install them so as to not scratch the paint. Install the pointy guide thingy loosely so you can easily get it out after the door is in place.

I put the un-used seat belts around the headrests and twist them one or two turns before latching which helps keep them from flapping. (twisting the belt is an old boating trick).

If it were mine, I would add an amusement park danger placard to the passenger-side dashboard:

Ive had 2 jeeps and did the same. Never used the bolts. Ive noticed if you dont tighten the top bolt on these doors they will pop and wobble. Didnt realize I could leave the bottom one out. If thats the case Im just gonna leave the alignment pin in next time.

If I had 4 alignment pins Iโ€™d do the same.

Hereโ€™s some doorless tips:
  1. Floor mats will flap around. Either remove or be sure they wonโ€™t fly out.
  2. Get ready to feel vulnerable. Itโ€™s hard to explain but all of sudden you will get thoughts like โ€œIf someone t-bones me I am screwed.โ€
  3. When done with doorless drive and you reattach doors be very careful not to ding your door on bottom when trying align. Take your time and youโ€™ll be ok.
  4. This one is crucial. When driving with doors off you have to ๐Ÿ‘‹ to others. I canโ€™t get into the reasoning here on this forum but just do it. Itโ€™s the decent thing.
  5. Last but definitely not least DONT FALL OUT! That would just be a bummer.
Those are my tips! Hope it helps.

People always ask if Im afraid of falling out. My answer is simple.. How many times have you ever fallen over and hit the door? The biggest concern is definitely someone t-boning but you just have to be careful. Im not sure on the wave part but I have jumped out and pet some dogs and red lights :ROFLMAO:

That's something I need to try. I never petted a red light! Sounds like fun. I can only imagine tourists taking pictures and videos, I might become famous on some "social media". Way better entertainment than waving at nice people driving Raptors.

When I had my first Bronco and took doors and roof completely off (basically a dune buggy) and was on highway and tractor trailers came up on each side I was bugged out.

I was praying for no road debris lol.

Itโ€™s a great way to drive and one of main reasons to have a Bronco. Itโ€™s fun!

I built me a nice little rack out of PVC pipe. Doors go into their bags, bags go in to rack slots. Doors are off the ground and wont fall over. Takes up very little room, and they are nice and secure.
Pictures of your door rack would be a great addition to this thread.
