I had an unknown squeaking/grinding sound coming from the front right of the bronco when going over speed bumps, or even really when the weight of the vehicle shifts after breaking, etc. I had the dealership look at it while they were working on something else and they say that they're front right bushings need to be replaced. They're quoting me around 600 bucks. Is this something I could do myself with a body bushing kit? I've put a body lift on a Wrangler so I'm somewhat handy, but it appears that Bronco has many more body bushings. I'm not certain how many will need to be replaced, I just know the front right.

Don't know about that, but the squeaking I got from the front (over bumps or just pushing on bumper) ended up being my lower ball joint. Ended up replacing myself which is the lower control arm assembly. Are they sure it isn't that making the noise?

Seems very odd a body bushing would make grinding noises...squeek maybe yes.

That is what is bothering me is that I'm not sure they could be certain. It doesn't seem like body bushings would cause the sounds that I am hearing. I will ask them if it could be the lower ball joint. How difficult was it to replace the assembly?

Bushing is easy to do. I have a body lift. I would double check to see if it is needed.

It's probably more of a creaking sound. Lol. I may need a thesaurus

Lol.
I'd be very surprised if it were a body mount making the noise but stranger things have happened I suppose. I'd be more inclined to check ball joints and UCA bushings.

Go here to listen to the video I posted a while back.

It wasn't too bad, I'd say a 2 man job, but can probably be done by yourself if need be. Will need an alignment afterwards.

Good video. Mine will not squeak when the bumper is pressed. It's more of like when the weight is shifting while driving slowly and braking. Then I'll hear it again when the body shifts back when accelerating. I can only hear it at slow speeds probably because of the volume of the engine.

How about if you sit in your driveway and just turn the wheel back and forth? I think I heard mine then too.

Did they SAY body bushings, or just bushings? Because there is a chance they're talking about your LCA bushings, NOT body bushings. In which case, given the IFS suspension and (I'll admit I haven't looked so I don't know what all would be involved, but an alignment after the fact is going to be required) the amount of work to replace them...$600 isn't a terrible price. Higher than I'd personally like, but given dealer inflated shop rates, that's not too bad.

I was thinking the same thing.
I would get verification on which bushing they were actually quoting first.
