I took delivery of my 2023 Big Bend a couple weeks ago (bought off the lot for sticker BTW) and the first time I took off the front top MIC panels I cut my hand on the an edge when it slipped a little bit. The edge is very sharp and has some of the rough coating on it making it like a serrated knife. I’m thinking of taking some sandpaper to the edges to dull it some. Has anybody else done this? MIC means molded in color, right? So it shouldn’t change the appearance I’m thinking.

Sanding it will still change the color even if it's MIC, but depending how small the edges are it might not be noticable. Got any pictures?

@WheresMyBronco I’m assuming you mean photos of the top and not my mangled hand. It’s the inside edge underneath that’s sharp.

Before you start messing with the top, maybe swing by the local Ford dealership to inquire on their thoughts? It might seem like a simple fix to sand it down slightly, but if you screw up the top, Ford can tell you to pound sand.

You have a warranty for a reason - I'd let the dealership handle it to ensure you get it fixed and you don't get screwed.

Mine cuts the heck out of my hands if I’m not careful. Gloves when you remove it or just deal with it.

Reason number 15,451 that Ford will use to void the warranty.
