The EPA announces it is getting rid of the ‘start/stop’ incentive on cars. This means that Ford could theoretically remove the default to 'On' every time you start your Bronco via a software update and allow it to remember your last setting. This would be huge!

A better “green” option than the stop start crap would be to require municipalities to time their stoplights better (and more logical traffic control programs) so you don’t spend so much time sitting waiting on nobody. There’s some relatively small towns I go through that you literally have to stop at every stoplight and there’s not that much traffic. I’ve heard their excuse Is that if they make you stop at every light you won’t get going too fast. Well how about they just write tickets for speeding instead?

It should default to "OFF". Can be turned on if needed.

Why would Ford disable it over the air? That would only cost them money.
They update the software via OTA all of the time. Just add it to the next update.

Omg yes. I don’t have a problem with ASS. But I have a huge problem with poorly timed stoplights. It takes 20 minutes to drive across 2 miles of Palo Alto because the lights are not properly timed. It’s the center of AI and technology, and we spend 1 gallon of gas to go 2 miles. Lol

While they certainly could. I would never see them wasting the time or resources to do this. They’ll just leave it as is I would bet.

Back in the day it took me an hour to get from Old Middlefield right by the school/Rengstorff to Menlo Park, and that was taking the highway (forget central expressway or the camino). 280 was a parking lot coming back from work.

Looking it up, maps says it's about 6 miles. So yeah, sounds about right! 😅

I’m indifferent to the legislation here as long as vehicles still provide the opportunity to turn it off (and stay off).

Doesn’t really matter as mine doesn’t work properly 80% of the time anyway.
