How much more do we see Ford limiting the 2 door? Is there a chance it goes away entirely ?

I hope that I am wrong, but based on what if have seen with the 2025 changes, I would not be surprised to see the 2026 Refresh turn into the 2026 Regurgitate. More special models may be offered - but fewer models if any may be offered with either the manual transmission or the 2-door option or especially with both.

Sitting in traffic sucks regardless of what transmission you have.
Sitting in stop-n-go traffic in a standard is a specific kind of misery, though. Back when they were widening the Lewisville bridge here on I-35, I had a 95 YJ with a standard and 1-2 hour congestion around that meant I'd usually start having thigh muscle shakes, foot and ankle would ache, and OMG I was tired of fighting with a clutch that was overheating and going soft. Crawling for hours to go 10 miles five feet at a time really is miserable. I like standards, but jeez that specifically sucks.

I still think it's funny that people believe you can only be an enthusiast if you have a 2dr and go rock climbing or serious off roading. I've had 2 and 4 door off roaders throughout my life but have never been rock climbing or mudding because it's not my thing. I prefer going fast, camping and other leisure activities in mine. I don't care too what strangers think of my purchases because I'm the one working and paying for them. And news flash, most 2dr owners don't really go offroad in their broncos either. To think you are a purists, special, smarter, better or more important just because you bought a 2dr truck is pure falicy. You just bought a car that you like. The need to put down people for their choices is a you issue.
Proving my point... It is all about image....

Timo, coming on to a thread about the viability and longevity of two doors and taking umbrage when people try to justify the purpose of even offering a two door option makes it abundantly clear that you feel your self image is being attacked. That sir, is a you issue.

And by the way, we don't rock climb in vehicles.... hands and feet, sometimes rope.... We do Rock crawling... Not all of us, but some of us. Hell, some of us do it in station wagons. and while you claim "I don't do those things" "I am an overlander".... It is still part of the self image you have for yourself. That is not a bad thing..... It just is.... We would like to see it protected and continued.

Personally I doubt I will ever go rock crawling with my Bronco. I bought it to go camping and for our horrible New Jersey roads. (we'll see how Bronco Off-Roadeo goes in June) but I have to admit that some of the videos that I have seen with you guys rock crawling out west blows my mind. More power to you guys and I hope you get the most fun possible out of your tricked out Broncos 😊

The 2-door segment in the automotive world is almost dead save for high end sports cars and exotics. Honda used to make 2-door Accords and Civics from the 70's right up until the latest generations and now they are gone. 2-door sports coupes sell poorly as the Camaro is gone and Mustang sales are close to worst ever (price also playing a role in the decline of the Mustang). If Jeep wasn't around, 100% there would be no 2-door Broncos or manual transmissions.
Those who would value convenience and utility over sportiness and style deserve neither.

As others have said, It's mostly about image, though there can be practical advantages to both..

The only thing I would say the two door truly excels at is Eastern US trail riding, where size is a big factor, and maneuverability wins.

Technical Rock Crawling is hugely obstacle dependent with many trails favoring short wheelbases, but at most of the places I go, a slightly longer wheelbase pays off over stacked ledges, while shorter wins for lone boulders which are less common.

As long as Jeep makes 2 doors, they'll sell mostly Sports (Lowest Trim) and Rubicons (Off Road Focused), the Sahara doesn't sell well in the two door (I believe based on what I see, I don't have any sales numbers to back that up).

If that remains true for Jeep, I think Ford will make 2 door Broncos, and the Base and Badlands are the appropriate trims to match what Jeep sells.

I personally will buy whatever Badlands I can get with an M/T and the least Fluff (IE: Not LUX), Cuz either one will work where I go, and I use the space of a four door if I have it, but don't suffer greatly without it.

What I find as an advantage with a short wheel base is that my rear tires track pretty darn close to where I place my front tires.... Switching left then right then left again... Where are my rear tires? I know where my front tires are, and I learn where my rear tires will go.... but when I have to turn one side then the other in quick succession, It is easier to track the short wheel base.

Since I bought my badlands, it really seems like Ford has been limiting the 2 door more and more every year. It was originally on almost all trims and all engines, then it went to only certain trims, and now it’s only certain trims / engine combos. I understand it’s way lower volume than 4 doors, but can they continue to justify making it?
It might just be special order or heritage additions. People want 2 doors, but buy 4 doors.
Ford is a business and might even make a 4-door 'stang because they only make money selling special items or volume. Keeping extra parts and molds just for kicks and the occasional shopper is not a great business model. Businesses report quarterly and adjust to make the next years models lineup. The Base trim has come and gone a few times already. It is hard to justify buying a 2-d, stick, base that is only a few k less then a 4door auto after rebates.

If Jeep puts the barebones one into production and it sales well Ford might rethink things.

You actually proved my point. I never said any negative about 2 dr ownership, i made comments about people that somehow believe they are better because they own a 2dr. Seems like you feel attacked by that. So again a you issue. Correcting me regarding climbing vs crawling goes to show what I already said, it's not my thing. My self image isn't wrapped up in the car is drive it's in the actual person I am. Just because the thread is about 2drs does not mean I can't have thoughts and opinions even though I don't own one.myself. The entire point of being on here is to share your opinion and read others.

Shit dude... welcome to the internet. First time here? Yea I thought that correction would get your goat.... And yes it is about image for you as well as everyone else, or you would not be posting a damn thing here. For you to come in here and correct everyone on how they should conduct themselves is a bit pretentious. People with 2 doors put down 4 doors because they simply have the better vehicle everyone else secretly wants but will not admit... It is that simple. That is not opinion that is simple truth, I saw it on Fox news. They said so.

You have a history of weighing in on topics only to defend your purchase decision. You have forfeited your right to be offended.

Letting go of my 2DR 2023 Badlands SAS on Monday.

Immaculate vehicle but I never drive it. Only 8950 miles on it. Never stayed a night not in my garage nor saw an ounce of dirt.

Got offered $42K from Carmax/Carvana. I just drove it recently, It has been sitting in my garage for six weeks without moving an inch.

Hard pill to swallow but I can longer for see paying for a vehicle that I never drive.

Keep the Two Doors alive!

(Unless I change my mind over the weekend.. :) )

A true manual enthusiast enjoys traffic even more. It's an opportunity to shift hundreds of times!

There is some truth to that... kinda sorta.... I hate that kind of traffic... Never thought of shifting or not shifting being associated with that dislike.

I've driven a manual every week day on I-95 in Virginia, Just south of the DC Beltway for the last 20 years. Everything from an International Scout II, VW Golf, Jeep TJ and JK, and others. Of all of them, The light Clutch and and easy shifting of the Bronco has been the least tiring, and 'Crawl' is frequently perfect in stop and go to where I don't actually touch the gas, just clutch and brake.

The Scout was the worst with a heavy clutch, But I get virtually no fatigue in stop and go with the Bronco. Auto Start/Stop is more annoying when I forget to turn it off then the M/T is.

I will always choose a Manual though when I can, regardless of Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend traffic in Northern Virginia.
