How much more do we see Ford limiting the 2 door? Is there a chance it goes away entirely ?

Since I bought my badlands, it really seems like Ford has been limiting the 2 door more and more every year. It was originally on almost all trims and all engines, then it went to only certain trims, and now it’s only certain trims / engine combos. I understand it’s way lower volume than 4 doors, but can they continue to justify making it?

The standard method of operation for most car manufacturers and dealers is:

  1. limit the options the enthusiasts enjoy until that option can only be picked for a very undesirable build.
  2. Dealers will only stock fast moving models, so buying one from stock is out, everything we like must be custom ordered.
  3. Manufacturer claims that nobody is buying these "options" (that are not easily available) , so they cut them entirely.

So yes, the 2dr and the manual are on their way out.

Somewhere out there, there is a great big bone pile of solid front axles, V8 engines, manual trannys and 2dr bodies. 😞

They will sell what people want to buy.

Note: Just because a few people want to buy doesn’t mean they’ll make a bunch, or even a proportional amount. Many people would need to want before they’ll put them out to sell. Which begs to question. With the way gladiators are selling, why don’t we have the Bronco truck?

I bought a two door Bronco because of the looks… I didn’t need the vehicle, I just wanted one. If they discontinue the two door, I will not replace with new.
I got lucky to get a ‘24 Badlands with the 2.7 Sasquatch Hoss 3.0 with high Lux… I believe I would have to get the Stroppe Edition to get the same options for the 2025 model.

I love my 2024…!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though... if a manual transmission was ever offered in the US-spec Ranger... I'd buy one instantly.

Which reminds me: EVERYONE GO BUY MANUALS!! 🤠

There's a possibility of anything. Hopefully, they don't. Would it be a shame if they did? Definitely, yes.

My vehicle is irreplaceable now. If someone smashes into my Bronco, I will simultaneously be sad and pissed. The Stroppe is the closest, and while it has some cool mechanicals, it's not like mine. The only way I could replace mine is with a used car. What I don't understand is why Ford arbitrarily limits 2-door choices. Ok, fine that it's not on every trim, but why limit how you can configure it on the trims it is on? Example: no V6 on Badlands.

Ford is going the Ranger Tremor and Raptor route. It makes sense because Jeep didn't have a pickup, so they made on from the Wrangler platform. Ford already has the Ranger and a Bronco-styled pickup that is a re-skinned Ranger is just extra design/production expense for very little growth in sales. A Bronco pickup would be cool, but having just commented on the potential demise of the two-door 😢, it's safe to say that a Bronco pickup has a very slim chance of existing.

Pretty much the same story here.

My $47k 2021 OBX 2.7 advanced 4x4 rear locker lux/tow package Bronco is essentially irreplaceable new unless I get a $75k Stroppe edition or a more door Badlands.

Ford gimped and gimped the 2 door until getting one I was willing to buy was gone. I had even thought about getting a 2025, but they succeeded in discouraging me from ordering one.

My 2022 2 Door Sas with 2.7 is irreplaceable too- especially at 38K price. If something happens to it, hope it doesn't- I will replace it with a mid size pick up- Colorado or Ranger 4 X 4. And even then it's going to be way more expensive that what I paid for my 2022. I really need a pick up too rather than the Bronco but seeing how Ford is limiting the 2 door especially with the V6 I want to hang on to it.
