No complaints with mine, build date June '22. Great top. I go through a automatic car wash at least 2 times a week... No leaks.. just my personal observations.

Is this going to end up in a class action suit?
Probably, and the only people who benefit from a class action are the lawyers. If it does happen and gets settled at some point down the road, we owners will likely get something like $27.52 each while the lawyers get millions.

The filer get the lionshare of the settlement as well. The "class" is the rest of us that create the breadth of the case that is used as leverage.

At the end of the day, this is Ford we're talking about. They don't have a fantastic track record of owning up to their engineering failures. A recent example of which are the transmission failures in the last generation Focus. That ordeal was settled by a class action lawsuit. For comparison, Toyota does a good job of owning up to their mistakes. Recent examples of which include, the frame replacement recall on first and second generation Tacomas, and the 3.5L V6 engine replacements for the new Tundra. They've even begun repainting cars and trucks affected by their peeling Super White paint. How a company resolves complaints and issues matters. I just don't have a lot of faith Ford will step up in this regard. I've always felt buying an American car or truck is a roll of the dice. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes a bad one. Do you like the car or truck enough to take the risk?

I don't understand the logic behind asking for a 5-year warranty.

If Ford gives you the same shitty top as a replacement, how is that going to help? Are you also demanding that the replacement have a 5-year warranty?

I only wish I could get credit toward the purchase of a painted top, like I originally reserved.
This^^^. I have no problems with my top so far. But, I would order a painted top Monday if Ford would do something like this.

I asked a legitimate question. I went through the MIC top replacement scam. My Bronco was in the shop for two months. The first replacement was damaged and they broke a window replacing the second. It's only a matter of time before the replacement top cracks.

Absolutely spot on. Totally agree — track record matters, and Ford hasn’t exactly inspired confidence with their responses to major engineering problems.

Yeah, it’s definitely frustrating. What do you think is a realistic ask from Ford here? Swapping MIC tops for painted ones would be ideal, but let’s be honest — that’s probably never happening. I’m hopeful, but it’s hard to say if any of our pushback will actually move the needle.

That said, there are clearly way more MIC top issues than the website numbers show. I see them all over FB, other forums, and with NEW Broncos sitting on the lot. It’s really going to take a full community (that's us getting the word out!) effort to raise awareness and keep the pressure on.

Yeah, I don't see painted tops happening. Asking something specific from Ford to me is potentially negotiating against yourself, without first knowing how pervasive the problem is. If what is happening is widespread enough, a single 5-year warranty won't do because you've got people who are on their 4th, 5th, etc. top. The only way to find out is through discovery in a lawsuit, which I'm sure will happen at some point.

Hey gang, this thread has had almost 7000 views. The website has 170 submissions from concerned Bronco owners with MIC tops. If you have a MIC top, you should be concerned. Please help keep the momentum going:

http://fixourbroncotops.com

The MIC top fail gallery page with pics is growing. It's interesting to see all of the defects in one place...some are similar in nature, others are different.

I of course understand the complaints concerning the structural failures and leaking, but the complaints about the wind noise are lame. Convertibles make noise. Don’t want noise, then buy a vehicle with a permanent top. BTW The Bronco is also loud when the roof is off.

Really? How many removable hard top vehicles have you owned? I currently have 4. ONLY the Bronco has issues. It leaks bad enough that I get rain and snow in. The dealer found no issues, but I can see daylight from inside and it will not re-seat any better. It is a Ford problem, period.

My Bronco badlands sasquatch 2 door with the MIC hardtop and added sound insulation has not shown any signs of cracking, discoloring, or deterioration. It's a 2022 and I have over 40K+ miles on it. I live in San Diego so the weather averages nice and sunny. I have driven in snow and a blizzard, rain, etc. I have made several trips from SD to Texas, too. The only problem I had a year ago was rear camera problems which the dealership balked at doing anything about it until I contacted Ford about it, then the dealership replaced two modules that cleared up that problem.
To bring things forward, I just added the ARB twin air compressor under the hood. Other mods include Rock Slider electric 12 inch drop down steps, dual hood lift struts (greatly eases hood lift and adds more clearance for working in the engine compartment), mud flaps (prevent rock damage to the bronco as well as other vehicles), parachute hand grab handles and metal grab handles, fog lights in the front steel bumper (white and yellow, Baha brand).
I'm enjoying it every day and it's the sexiest looking vehicle I've ever had...
What problem did you have with the rear view camera? mine locks up for a minute sometimes when I start it so i can't use the camera to back up. Then it reboots and restarts. Just wondering if yours is the same?
