I am not going to split hairs over "a couple years" 2.0...2, maybe 3, what day is it anyway? There are gen 1 tops and gen 2 tops. They haven't been replacing tops for 5 years, you and I know that, hell they couldn't even build them all when they were ordered.

Do I applaud what the OP is doing, heck yes! But asking Ford to step in and open their checkbook to lifetime warranties etc. is a bit optimistic, JMO. Like I said, most comments are those that have issues, let's see the hands that don't...crickets, except me, mine has been fine (so far) as others have said.

My assumption on painted tops, yep it is an assumption, 25 years on this side of the desk, I will bet my time in the hole...tell me I'm not right in another year...or look back and tell me told you so, doesn't matter to me.

Old 60's cars that are rebuilt one-off by professionals restoring vehicles is a hell of a lot different than a modern day assembly line, you know that. Go look at a factory in the 60's and see what rolled off with issues, QC wasn't great back then either with zero technology. a 63 split window Vette was what, $3500-4K bucks back then, a 69 Daytona or Superbird hemi or 440 car the sameish.... Now at the auctions they are what....150K +++ million bucks come on, not the same to compare to.

Look, I am not here to argue with you or the OP or anyone. We can go tit for tat all day I am sure. Like I said and will say again, I applaud the OP for doing what he is doing, hopefully something will eventually be done. Usually it'll be an ambulance chaser trying to get everyone together hoping for a big payout. I am only stating where Ford's focus is and it isn't reading or monitoring this thread or website daily. JMO and we all know that opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one.
I respect your opinion, seeing what you see, you’re probably right.
I’m jaded. I’ve had my Bronco two weeks. Didn’t find mic problems until after I drove off lot, and I thought I looked pretty hard.
I love my Bronco, probably a bit too much. It’s my daily driver that lives outside. If my engine doesn’t throw itself through the hood or someone on a phone doesn’t run into me, I’ll take the roof problems. I will also hold Ford to warranty, if at all possible. These vehicles are a luxury, for me and my budget anyway. That’s on me.

My wife only drives Honda, and when she says I should have gotten a Honda, and might be correct, it’s painful…Ford could potentially be making my wife right! Think about that Ford…

I’m glad there is a place like this site, and the mic collection site, to go to gather all the good, and the bad, about our cars.

And one more oldy, what do you call a hundred lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start!
Until you need one…

Another aspect of warranty coverage that I don’t think has been mentioned is dealers’ general lack of enthusiasm to make warranty repairs. The techs don’t like getting paid for 1/2 the hours it takes to perform a task. This is why a lot of service departments will blow off customers, sending them on a quest to find another dealer that will give a damn. Ford doesn’t go out of their way to compensate the customer, or the dealer.

Hey gang, just a heads up and couple of updates:

First, thanks to all of the discussion on this thread, some really good points being made here. And thanks for the engagement on the site.

With that input (and input I've been sent directly on the contact form on the site), I've changed what we want from ulimited coverage of the life of the vehicle to 5 years with unlimited miles—matching Ford’s rust damage warranty on body panels.

I think this is fair considering all of the feedback from all of you. I hope everyone is OK with this change...again, this is not my site, this is your site. Your feedback makes it better.

Ditto my friend. I wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers on anyone, just putting a little different spin on it I guess to step back and think a little. Do I agree they are junk, yep. Do I say "quote" JUNK every time I see one with issues in the shop, yep but again it isn't as often as other dealers might see, that is just my experience here. I hate using the term "post covid" talk but quality has gone to $h!t post covid. We have 100K super duty's coming in with broken junk on them that I didn't see on my older trucks, don't get me started on 10-speed transmissions but they do help pay my paycheck . I am fortunate now that my Bronco is a garage queen, I drive a 2024 Chevy Trailboss, it has it's weird quarks too that my 2018 Super Duty didn't but I don't tow a boat anymore so I don't need a big truck anymore.

My wife loved her Honda, when she turned 40 I bought her a BMW, already sold it 2.5 years later and just bought her a Lexus (Toyota). She had almost 200K on her 2013 accord 2-door, she loved it, replaced one hub bearing and changed the oil was about it. My dog could swim faster than it could get on the highway but that was always a fun joke. The BMW was junk but that was my experience with it.

Someone said above and I agree it is sad that threads do snowball the way they do. No MFG is perfect of fault free and trust me, I love warranty work. Techs now day's would almost rather it since it is nearly auto approval rather than dealing with 3rd party warranty companies and waiting on customer approvals, sometimes the little extra customer pay you get isn't worth it in the end especially with the independents really snagging business and the real "mechanics" are all retiring. GSB's are out there on more than tops, they are on interior, exterior, lighting etc.

Love the lawyer comment lol, Ron White has a funny bit on them lol.

Oh, BadmanSAS if you are listening, yes, junk, get it replaced under warranty, we had a 2 door like that not long ago.

Cheers, Dave

Ford’s MIC tops are failing. Cracking, delaminating, warping — and they know it. But once your warranty’s up? You’re on your own.

That’s why I built this: https://fixourbroncotops.com

We’re not asking — we’re demanding Ford take accountability and cover these tops for the life of the original owner.

🛑 Had a failure?
🛑 Think one’s coming?
🛑 Tired of waiting for Ford to do the right thing?

This only works if we come together and turn up the heat.

Ford needs to feel the pressure — let’s give it to them.
My 22 dr base top is perfect. No complaints

I've ordered a 2025 Big Bend a couple of weeks ago with a MIC top. Does anyone know exactly what the material is that Ford uses in the construction of these tops?

Have you posted a link on any of the Facebook Bronco pages ? There seems to be someone every other day that has a top issue and they never heard of this site ?

I have not yet. This is where I need everyone's help. Everyone. This is YOUR site...I put the time into putting this together, but I don't have time to find every resource to post it to. You guys can help!

Please don't just rely on me alone to get the word out. Together we can do this.

Good point. Another good point is to add some free seo to the fixourbroncotops website. If you can, go in and change the title tags for each page so that they reflect the terms people will use when searching the web.

For example, nobody will search for "Home - FixOurBroncotops," but they will search for something like "bronco hard top issues." So a good homepage title tag would look something like Bronco Hard Top Issues | Cracks, Leaks, Delamination, Warping, Warranty Repair. (Just gave you another link)

Also, add a few Youtube videos to your site, perhaps one that introduces the website concept, and a few of the other videos that others have already produced. Don't know about you but I'm always watching Bronco videos on my big screen TV. It's great visibility.

Thanks man! Will make the changes to tags, etc. for better SEO.

Sorry...web development isn't my first job (or second, or third) 😂

@joeman

I just got a response back from the AZ Attorney General. You probably did too if you filed yours about the same time as me. REJECTED as suspected. Attached is what they said. They note that I haven't had any warranty repairs completed since December 2023, which is correct. But from July 2023 - December 2023 I had my top replaced 3 times.
