Which Seats Are The Most Comfortable ?

So I’m gearing up to start looking at buying a Bronco. This won’t be a daily driver, but it will be a vehicle my wife and I will take on vacation, almost exclusively. I want to choose the seats that are the most comfortable, if there is such a thing. Or, do they all share the same base structure and just have different covers?

We just put on about 1400 miles in my Son’s Black Diamond with marine grade vinyl, and frankly they weren’t too bad. I’m just thinking that maybe leather trimmed seats maybe have better support cushions?

I could be wrong but it looks like they all use the same base structure from what I could tell.

My MGV seats are very comfortable, but I do wish they had a cooled seat option. I get that it'd ruin the waterproofing, but the only water they see is the sweat that comes from my ass anyway

The difference is the seat back foam, one looks like this, the other doesn't have the indent near the shoulders

I have the leather, and they stay cooler than MGV, but you may find cheaper, better ones than my factories.

If you like to tinker. …. I have had a few tacoma’s….. worst seats bar none, i have gone to a upholstery shop and bought sheet hi density foam in a few thickness, and use the base seat, add foam to fit ur build, ie bolsters, seat back etc, glue it all together, and put a good quality seat cover over them…. Best thing i ever did to the taco….

Biggest comfort upgrade to any seating choice, especially if you're on the taller side, is a shim to bump up the front seat legs. The seats come at delivery flat parallel to the floor and it's a bit like sitting on a bench, instead of being nestled and comfy with just a few degrees tilt.

A lot of handy people use washers and a slightly longer bolt, there are also a few kits with solid blocks and hardened bolts, for the "my toolkit has a screwdriver that I mostly use to pry things open with" folks.

I bought the seat jackers. I think that’s what they were called… give you wedges for 2 different heights. I only went to the first height and have been happy for the last 50k miles.

I have the MGV and start to squirm after approximately 6 hours of driving. In my 4Runner with leather it takes about 3 hours of driving. I’m super happy with the MGV. FYI, I’m 6’3” and weigh 195.

I have MGV seats that are comfortable and have a normal-angle headrest, but my neighbor’s leather seats’ headrests angle awkwardly forward and are not comfortable, but our seats feel the same. Both are Badlands, but mine is a 21 and his is a 23, if that makes a difference.

My big bend cloth seats have been better than expected…no complaints…we also do vacation trips in the Bronco…I like cloth over vinyl...swamp ass is a thing…hear the leather can be had with power in a 4 door but I would never have one…so not on my radar…

I also have had katzskin leather cover, in yota crusier that was over 12 years old, both on and off road,,, still looked new.. there is a certain amount of upkeep but GREAT covers

My 24 with leather lets you adjust the angle of the headrest by pulling forward on the top of it. Has your neighbor tried that?

I second the cloth seats. Being in Phoenix it’s more comfortable than the leather seats in my previous car.

I have the leather power seats in my 22 Outer Banks and I and all my passengers live them. I even had a lady who did not want to ride in her because she thought the seats would be like a jeep she had ridden in. She tried it out and wanted to take the seats home with her. Lol
