I would happily pay $10k more for a V8 option. But also needs to not be a limited variant with a crazy price tag. I guarantee a V8 Bronco is a pipe dream, especially since the Raptor is the 3.0. But there's always hope, right?
It'd be far more than $10,000 for a V8 option. Ford would need to include a new PCM, exhaust, radiator, transmission, driveshaft, differential, rear axle, etc. The list goes on and on, not to mention new harnesses and wiring. Hell, new suspension would be needed to handle the extra weight of the engine.

If such a thing were conceivable, it would probably be the same price difference between the F150 Raptor and Raptor R, and would only be available to the flagship Braptor.

Nope, there's no hope.

The fuel economy sucks enough as it is.

Yeah, I get it - you don’t care.

But it’s not about you. It’s about CAFE numbers.

Even if someone is hoping that the current administration will change things, automakers aren’t big on taking the risk that the next administration will have a different view.

I'm sure it will happen. Carmakers love high-margin vehicles. The Jeep 392 STARTS at $101K. There's enough people with excess cash lying around to send Ford $100K for a V8 version of the Bronco I'm sure.

They won’t even put a 2.7 in a 2dr anymore so they sure ain’t gonna put a v8 in any Bronco…can barley get a v8 in a f150…

The Edmunds article (link, page 1 of thread) concludes with this:

"We're finally getting a Ford Bronco powered by a V8 — too bad it will be limited (for now) to the 2023 Ford Bronco DR. To start, only 50 units of this ultra-exclusive desert racer will be available, but we imagine Ford will answer the call if more buyers are interested. Check out our Instagram to hear a clip of this beast revving those 400 American ponies."

You clowns begging for a V-8 sound like little bitches.

Real Bronco enthusiasts want the 300 straight six.
I’m with you on this one. My main issue is small displacement motors that are blown to give them the power to actually do anything useful. Like my previous comment on the 351 Windsor that’s carbureted; That is never going to happen, just like a straight 6 300. Same with wanting Chrysler to bring back the 4.0, again, never going to happen.
But the Coyote is a viable option and it’s available. Some are referencing the added expenses of wire harnesses, and other parts needed to make this happen. But keep in mind, you’d also be removing an engine that has twin turbos, so IMO the price shouldn’t be that much for an optional upgrade just like on the F150. So it’s a doable thing so long as the CAFE standards are relaxed.
And as far as MPG goes; I’m not at all convinced that the Coyote V8 is grossly worse than the 2.7. We have an ecoboost variant in our fleet of Expedition Medic trucks, and the MPG turns out to be very close to what the older trucks got with the 5.4. These MPG standards, while a tad better for the Ecoboost, only help Ford with their CAFE standards, not really the consumer. When you factor in the costs of future turbo issues(which we have a ton of in the fleet) the few bucks you save in gas gets thrown out the window. A simple V8 will always be better for useful HP Torque in a more suitable RPM range, and less stressful on the engine itself.
But hey, like I said offer multiple engine options and if someone is dead set on an EcoBoost, I’m all for it. We all have different needs and opinions, so I say give us the option to choose what we want.

For those listing wiring harnesses and other items that could make the 5.0 cost prohibitive.

Remember that the Coyote is already offered in the F150 so Ford doesn’t have to develop anything or much from scratch, so there is a lot of parts sharing opportunity.

Why the Coyote? Just bring back the 4.9 liter OHV V-8? torque lower in rev range compared to Coyote, it’s smaller compared to the Coyote by a “wide” margin, has huge AM parts availability, it’s a motor that was in Broncos of yore…etc. give it forged internals from the factory. Plus they sound better than an OHC 5.0
Loved the 4.6.
Had it in a 1997 Expedition.
I think I averaged 23 mpg.
Bought an Eddie Bauer 2000 expedition and was lucky to get 15 mpg with the 5.7.
And I blew out a spark plug on the 5.7 right at 90,000 miles.
I had to put a heli coil in to fix it.

People been asking for v8 in Bronco since 2020. Ford didn't listen. My only requirements were 2 doors and a manual.
