Why would they put tweeters in the kicks, for tying shoes?

So the speaker number gets bigger.

Not for anything but I installed coax speakers in the kick panels when I upgraded.

Dunno. But honestly.... it sounds way better than the 2021-2024 sound system. I suspect they also beefed up the amp itself, but yeah... whatever they did is a noticeable improvement.

It would like to open up the kick panel trim to see what the speaker is. May not be the typical woofer/tweeter coaxial. But obviously I wasn't about to do that on one of my dealer's brand-new vehicles they had on the lot.

B&O system: RL Dash Location 10mm tweeter/80mm Mid Range, Center 100mm speaker, RL Kick panels 160mm Woofer, RL Rear pods 100mm speaker, 8" woofer in rear.

Base system: RL Dash 100mm speaker, Kick panels 165mm speaker, Rear pods 100mm speaker

I have a '23 Wildtrack with Lux/B&O system. I was not impressed with the sound and swapped all speakers, added a mono amp and a slim profile 12" sub enclosure mounted to the rear cargo door. All in, was about $900 plus about 5 hours of my time working alone (1st time doing this and if I did it again it could be done in 3). The result is amazing! Can turn it all the way up with super clear mid/highs and bass you can feel in your chest.

The 3 dash speakers are super easy to replace. The two corners pop straight up (get a set of nylon trim panel tools) and the center one requires the threaded mount and USB outlet to be removed before popping out also. All three factory speakers are garbage and I replaced with Alpine S2-S40. Bought everything from Crutchfield and they supply the wire harness so everything is plug and play with the Ford wiring. Super easy and the first thing you should swap out as most of what you hear comes from these 3 guys.

The 2 rear pods are even easier as the grill just pulls away by hand and the same garbage speakers are easy to remove and replace with the same Alpines and supplied harness.

These Alpines have built in capacitors which block low frequencies from the speakers and avoid popping when you turn up the volume. They stay crisp and clear all the way up.

The two kick panels are a bit more work but still relatively easy. Look for YouTube videos on the driver's side as the left foot rest must be removed. Easy. Inside here I found two more garbage 6" speakers which I replaced with Kicker KSC6704 coaxials. There is a bit more bass here that I can feel in my legs but I can't say there is much sound improvement as the speakers are hidden away. If you need to save, these could be skipped but the Kickers were ~ $130 for 2 including the harnesses.

All of these speakers remain connected to the Ford B&O DSP and amplifier, which actually works pretty good with the speaker upgrades.

Now to the rear and where the fun begins! The B&O sub is embarrassing and pops with the smallest amount of volume and/or bass. Luckily, it is very easy to disconnect with a quick release clip, which I did. The sub is still there, just not connected.

I installed an AudioControl 12" sub enclosure which mounts directly to the rear swing door. I didn't want a box in the back taking up space and this is near perfect. It sits about 4" off the back door and fits just inside of the bend in the metal to where it ends up nearly flush overall. No rear space is lost and the sound from this is amazing. I used 4 rivnuts directly into the rear door to mount the box it is very secure and looks professional. Ran the speaker wires through the existing harness and into the rear passenger panel where the new amp was installed.

I added a Kicker KEY500.1 mono amp which seems purpose built for this job. I joined the audio wires from the abandoned sub input into the amp's audio input and it uses this to get a full audio signal and to power cycle on/off, so the amp doesn't power down if the car's auto start/stop shuts off. If the radio is on, the amp and sub are on. I did run a dedicated power cable from the battery to the amp (through the firewall and along all the door trim). Again, this was all so much easier than I expected.

So in the end, the factory amp and DSP run all the smaller speakers and the Kicker amp powers the sub. This is a great setup and highly recommended if you're looking for a very solid sound upgrade.

I agree with @12th Man Ag that makes more sense, but according to the workshop manual the kickpanels are coaxial, not the rear pods.

Unless the workshop manual is wrong. Very possible. But I guess it's time to shamelessly ping @Ducati1098 to see if they've updated it.

I guess it doesn't really matter if you change them all out anyway! I am hoping my Bronco shows up in April. At that point, I will take a listen and see what I think. I am 54 years old, so my ears aren't needing perfection. Maybe the slight upgrades will make the need to change any speakers or amps irrelevant for me.

And, if I hate the sound, I will probably just do the 4" Hertz's the dash corners, Memphis Audio 6.5" woofers in the kick panels, and Hertz 6.5" pods. Maybe I'll add the 12" woofer on the tailgate, but who knows. I am betting the B&O will be fine for my old ears.

I guess all that really matters is how it sounds, and honestly from my 1 hour with a 2025 Raptor it sounded really good. I personally felt my own (relatively cheap) upgrade I did on my 2022 sounded better (or at least on-par) with the old B&O package. But the new one is definitely an improvement, they did a good job.

The amp now powers all of the speakers. It's a totally different amp. One look at them side by side shows it's significant. I also noted that the part numbers for every single speaker have changed. It's very different.
