Just installing my new third brake light/ chase light combo.

Can you take a video of the lights in action? I tried to find it on their site and only found install videos.

M2M Attic Shelf installed, which rocks. I was able to move a lot of my recovery gear up there. I installed a 1/8” rubber washer and then a 1/8” thick nylon washer at the top pivot of both sides to eliminate any rattles (suggested in another thread) and help center. I also used heat shrink on the rear latch pins. It’s as silent as can be, even more so than when I had all the gear bungeed to the back of the rear seats.

Hopefully it’ll still work with my Armadillo HT getting installed this next week, but they thought it should…

Man that rattle has been driving me NUTS. I thought it was the rubber bushings squeaking on the pivot so I was going to hit it with silicone lube. Next time the top is loose enough to come off (will be when the trail rax is installed) I will be doing this. I did something similar on the latches already with TESA tape.

I am no off-road expert or hard core off-roader, but seriously I didn't learn anything at Off-Roadeo... The instructor even apologized for not having anything more advanced for us to do.

In all fairness, it was exactly as expected and a great learning experience for my girlfriend (who had 0 off-road experience). I still enjoyed the day off-road and Moab was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I have absolutely no complaints about the difficulty being too low for the intended audience, but don't expect too much from the course if you have ANY off-road experience and any advanced driving education.

I do have to give my instructor points for letting me run the Bronco hard on the fast part of the day, even caught a little air with his encouragement. LOL, he remarked that he had never taken the trail that fast as a passenger (big smile on his face), unfortunately we had to keep stopping every two minutes to allow the group to catch up.
I actually had a great time in the NH off roadeo. I let my cousin drive since I am pretty experienced but they took them up some great technical trails. Lots of fun tree dodging too.

They got you used to some off camber wheel lift situations. This lady in front of us was 70 something and killed it driving.

Video doesn't show how off camber the section was. Taught line choice a ton more so than using tech to get out of situations and relied on tech sparingly.

Succinctly, what Joe said.

But a little in depth - The front differential is on the driver's side. The driver's CV axle connects directly to the FDU side gear via splines. Because the location of the FDU, there is an intermediary shaft that bridges the gap between the FDU and the passenger's cv axle. The CV axles connect to the wheel hub with more splines. When wheeling with the front locker engaged, the splines are under a lot of strain especially when the locker is continuous and with varying steering and throttle input.

Worst case scenario is that you no longer have 4WD as you have sheered off the splines of the CV axles and/or the intermediary shaft. Best case scenario is to selectively and sparingly engage and then disengage the front locker.
The instructors at the Texas Off Roadeo stressed lines over lockers the whole time we were there. The instructor would take us to a unique obstacle and then have us turn on one of the lockers. He then told us why and as soon as we were past the obstacle he had us turn off the locker. EDIT: Prior to Off Roadeo I had zero rock climbing experience. It was definitely an eye opener for me. I learned a lot. @Astronaut, if you get a chance you should go, you won't be disappointed.

Yes to all the above. Lockers can be beneficial. But I think most use them as a crutch instead of taking a better line or improving their technique.

I made a little more progress on my fuel/tool rack. All I need now is the fuel can/mount, but I'm having a mental block with rotopax prices. Anybody have experience with the Chinesium alternatives
I went with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09RDWPZ2T?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_10

I seen no reason to invest double the price and I have a boatload of S/S fasteners so that was what I used to attach. After a year outside no issues but i did use anti-size on the threads.

Link to this…..I have no idea what this is.
Folks that live where salt is dumped on the roads live by anti-seize. Any hardware I remove gets a coating of anti-seize before reassembly.

It ensures that threads don't bind up or rust together. Also critical when threading dissimilar metals together.

I am planning to go to either Moab or Las Vegas this year. Can’t wait!

Assembled the EZ 4x4 hard top lift and put it to good use. Very well constructed and pretty simple to operate.

The lift looks nice. What were your reasons for purchasing this one over the other 2 big names (can’t think of them)?
