Appreciate the honest feedback and share of info. I’m in a similar boat. Upgraded to 37” Yoko Geolandar MT’s and still running the stock stuff. Something is better than nothing. My tires aren’t crazy heavy but around 76# each which I believe are heavier than your KM3’s.I can’t lie I was a lil disappointed. I’m sure the hammer bilt would be a stronger but also significantly heavier…..since I’m only running a 37 km3 I would imagine it should be adequate since ford designed for the raptor 37 ko2. My method wheels are also a lot lighter than the factory wheels….ill give it a go and see how it does. Definitely better than the nothing I had before

on the other had, you can get the HB raptor one, and the raptor hinges were a little over half price vs buying separately. At least that what I tell myself to feel better and have a backup plan![]()
I’m a little on the fence. I have an opportunity for a nice discount on the TOR unit which has its own upgraded hinges. It would be a little less than using the hinges from the FP kit and coupling with the HB exoskeleton. That is true.
Cutting is requiredSo just to confirm unlike the Motoroso variant the FP part here actually requires us to cut the wheel mount so that the plate fits. I noted the motoroso one goes directly over the 4 holes and no cutting was required.
I used an angle grindThat’s what mine looked like when it arrived today as well. Quality and thickness are a bit disappointing. I used some 303 cleaner and then 303 protectant. Cleaned up and looks better now.

What did everyone use to trim the tire carrier down? Dremel?
Like someone else did on an earlier thread . I hit it with some 303 protectant and it came to life right away. I also use the 303 on my fender flares without it they tend to look bad occasionallyAnyone else's plastic look like this? Looks pretty mangled to me..

I have the turn off road adjustable mount so I hit it with raptor liner real quick….but if I remember right the stock mount is plastic…After trimming the tire carrier with Dremel / angle grinder, did anyone do any treatment to the bare metal of the cut end? I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to repaint the cut end so it doesn't rust...
I haven't bought the kit yet but seriously considering it.
I bought some of this to use for nicks & scrapes on my rock sliders but have used it on a few other projects as well. Cut the wings of my stock skid plate. Had to grind and enlarge a hole on some frame horn braces. Only takes a few minutes to shoot a few coats and dries for a good match. After trimming the tire carrier with Dremel / angle grinder, did anyone do any treatment to the bare metal of the cut end? Only the plastic needed to be cut - looked like they accounted for that since you just cut inside of the raised edges and it perfectly aligns. After trimming the tire carrier with Dremel / angle grinder, did anyone do any treatment to the bare metal of the cut end? There’s no metal to cut. You only trim the plastic. After trimming the tire carrier with Dremel / angle grinder, did anyone do any treatment to the bare metal of the cut end? I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to repaint the cut end so it doesn't rust...
