DV8 52" light bar mount install issue! Do not buy!

@Incinr8 I bought it because I liked the aesthetic? The listed 2.75" x 2.5" x 53" light bar size led me to believe I could find a quality light to install. I got the mount in, the used a tape measure to see exactly what would fit.

Look at DV8s 3" light pods and how low they mount. I will admit that my spare Nilight pods and old tractor supply cheapies I tested are nothing worth installing but the literally sat and 1/2" to high and hit the top bar unless angled up. I should have boxed the mount up at this point and returned it.

I still feel like the product is a scam to make you buy there lights. DV8 lights are at best worth half of what they charge.

It says it was designed for their lightbar, it doesn't say it doesn't mount any other lightbar. Being able to mount a lightbar to a lightbar mount when most lightbar mounts are fairly universal is not the completely unreasonable expectation you are making it out to be. In addition, it says it mounts 3" pod lights, but Snacktime previously posted that those don't fit either - so it also isn't fit for purpose it actually was advertised for.

e: The instructions also directly suggest the mount is compatible with other 52" lightbars.

@Snacktime , I get it. I bought a Spare tire delete kit that wouldn't work with my camera, No where did the instructions did it mention it wouldn't work with my camera. I made it work with some light trimming and fabrication.

I also have a CB antenna mount that wont work with my set up, Without modification, No where did it say it wouldn't work. I'm going to make it work.

You have to understand there are thousands of different products for these Broncos and they are not all universal.

I read DV8's description and in no way thought it read like a universal mount. I did feel i could modify it to work with other lights, If i bought it for a light not listed, And it would be on me.

That being said, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, Or did it? Lol. But to make a " Do Not buy" post seems a little harsh and without merit. Had this been an " Cautionary tale" A "My Experience " or even a write up on how you saved money by adapting a less inexpensive light, I could see your argument....

Anyway, I'm out. BTW, your Bronco looks great.

my following comments have nothing to do with the light bar, but about my experience with dv8 stuff in general. I have a dv8 winch bumper, skid plate, crash bar covers, and ditch lights. Also bought my winch from them. Self install. All top-notch, super quality stuff. I have been super happy with dv8.

Maybe if Auxbeam didn't have such a ridiculous mounting base it would have fit fine when you spend more on the mount than the light, you get what you pay for.
