Ford Bronco ONLINE BRONCO PARTS SCAMS thumbnail_7F5753F7-DA6A-48AF-B8DA-78C137CE5B9A

Hopefully many of you have seen my recent posts on IG & Facebook about sites that claim to have late model/low mileage Bronco parts for sale at very good prices. Unfortunately, I fell victim to their scam. They advertised new, uninstalled ADV hood, fenders, etc. for $3000. I asked about selling only the hood and they agreed and settled on $400 ($850 less than the factory price). I paid them on PayPal (they requested a friends and family transaction) and they supposedly shipped the hood. Tracking info and everything. The next day I got a request for $230 to cover the insurance that would be refunded on delivery, which I paid after much discussion about validity with the seller. The next day I got another request for $190 for a doc fee that would also be refunded. I again bitched the seller out about this and he assured me these fees were necessary and would be refunded on delivery. Paid that. Later that day I got another fee request and I told them to jam it and the realization sunk in that I had been had. The sites are:
@fordbroncodealershipparts and @fordbroncopartswarehouse
I'm posting this to make other unsuspecting Bronco owners looking for a deal on Fox shocks, Bronco wheels, ADV hoods, and other pricey items aware of the scam. ALSO, I have learned that a Friends and Family transaction on PayPal can't be contested or submitted as fraud. Only business transactions will be investigated by PayPal. I cover my PayPal account with my Apple card. Apple is VERY good at investigating fraud and recovering payments if possible.
I hope none of you falls for these scams like I did. The $ are not crazy, but that's $820 that i no longer have to put into my TXDOZER Bronco.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks for posting your story. As someone who has been in IT (in a different business now) I see these scams from further away then many others (yours has many earmarks of online scam behavior), but many need to be better educated.

Remember folks, if the prices are really too good to be true (say more than 15% below anywhere else), if they ask for "friends and family"/non consumer protected payment, or as happened to a friend of mine ask you to hold up a personal check to your computer cam! :crazy:, and keep coming back to you with additional fees/charges, your being scammed!

Also, if you ever get a phone call out of the blue allegedly from Microsoft, Apple, IRS, or some other big business/government telling you they are calling because your computer needs updating or your due a refund...it's a scam! Such organizations do not exist to "help" you and they certainly would never call you offering their "help" :wink: This is not mere cynicism, this is reality!

Any chance this website is a sockpuppet for the actual ADV ?

Those guys are shitbags enough that I could see them doing a scam like this.
They advertise all kinds of takeoff parts like Wildtrak takeoff Fox Hoss3.0 shocks. I doubt even ADV would quote $400 for a hood.

People on IG have an obligation to block these individuals from their followers. It is part of the confidence scam. They follow other IG profiles. The unsuspecting will look at an account and IG will show similar followers. When the unsuspecting sees the scammer following a friend, then that lowers their guard.

Most account holders don't know who is following them. They are only interested in gaining more and more followers in the hope of meeting the monetization thresholds. Don't fall for the trap of wanting more and more followers. Take the time to peruse the list and remove and block them.

The general rule on these Bronco Parts sellers is that they are all scammers.

Sucks that it happened and unfortunately will continue to happen in the future. However, there are some buyer protection mechanisms that should be utilized - by the buyer!

I use PayPal goods and services form of payment only. If the seller asks for the payment via f/f, I offer to cover the PayPal transaction fee. If seller declines, I move on. No Zelle, Venmo or other irrevocable forms of payment. Just recently passed on a deal for parts for my F250 because the seller didn't use PayPal to accept payment. It would have been a very good deal but I didn't know the seller and would have hated to "throw away" $300.

You are so right, Farris Auto Salvage is for sure a scam, I asked about a few items, one being a rear tow hook/tie down. Easy to remove, I asked for a picture of the item with their business card next to the item with a price shipped to my zip code. They want payment prior to this to pay their mechanic to remove the item. LoL!!!
