Did a search but not finding what I want. 2024 Badlands with Sasquatch package. Came with the rock rail and we need running boards unfortunately. Will the rock rail work with the factory boards or does it have to come off? Will we need the pinchweld covers also with the boards? Thanks

Howdy. The rock rail will have to come off to install the steps. You might get a set of hoop steps to replace the rock rails. It is about the same look, but the steps come off if you go off-roading. The issue with the hoop steps is the rail that stays installed is not a true rock rail and it is not rated to hold the weight of the vehicle.

You can get the steps that clip onto the oem rock rails as well. There are numerous versions, whether just small steps or even full length boards. In those cases, you can retain your rails. If you wanted to swap out for running boards that mount like normal, the pinch weld covers are not needed. Purely aesthetic.

I had Zroadz slider steps on my 2dr Badlands. They bolt right up and are not only good as a step they also do great job of stopping rocks coming off the tires from hitting the paint. No need for pinch rail covers.

Back then they were about $1000.

As others have stated, you can buy hoops that fit in the OEM rock rails or but some OEM steps off of the market place but then add DV8 pinch covers. Other sliders available that can act as steps and cover the pinch weld. Options abound to do exactly what you want.

Around here factory boards can be had from $50-100 on craigslist/market place. Takes 5-15 minutes to install.

Just get the IAG steps that mount to the OEM rock rails.

What color is your Bronco? You may not even notice the pinch welds with the factory boards. I was in the same boat with my ‘21 Badlands and vertically challenged better half.

I have on order a 2024 2-door Non-Sasquatch Big Bend in Azure Gray with the Ford Tube Steps. Would I need to cover the Pinch Welds - and if so any particular Pinch Weld manufacturer you can recommend?

From the Po’Boy line of low/no cost mods… mine have been on over a year, still look great and rust-free 😏

Here is a reminder to remove your running boards before going wheeling. My more door wheel base on a feature pushed my running boards up into my door frames. I was really lucky it didn’t smush my doors too.

Take ten mins to take running boards off before wheeling.

Good to know. We don't do any hardcore wheeling, but I bought the M2M steps specifically because they come off quick if we need them to. They're not very big, but that's actually handy - they can be stashed just about anywhere unlike bigger boards.
