how was the install? i know I'm getting a knew knob just don't know which one/height yet.

Super easy 5 min job. It was way easier than I was anticipating.
Pop the cap off the old one, unscrew the allen screw with the provided allen key, pull up to remove the old knob, slide on the adapter, reinstall the allen screw with the new washer, apply threadlocker to the adapter, screw on new shifter knob and align it, wait 1 hour for threadlocker to set.

(One of the rare 5 min jobs that actually only takes 5 minutes)

I wasn’t really digging the way the original one looked with the locking nut and all but after having it for a few months, I like the extra height and the smaller space to wrap my fingers around. I find myself not inadvertently going into reverse as I was with the stock knob. Part of that issue was reverse is where first has been for the past 2 decades. I did have to make a slight modification as the bottom surface was chamfered and rough where I interfaced with the lock out lever. I put it on a lathe an turned the chamfered edge to a radius one.

Drove it to dinner and I really like the feel of it. Should have come stock on the MT HE's like this.

I must say, I do like the look of that. Looks like it’s supposed to rather than an add on like mine.

Well it's finally happening! I'm driving 840 miles round trip tomorrow but I know its worth it! I can't wait to see my truck after this whole time!

Congrats! Sure hope they fixed the front plate holes in your Bronco. Make sure they fill the fuel tank. Mine was almost empty and did not realize it until I was on their suggested shortcut to I40 with no gas stations on the route.

I haven't seen pics yet but I get the feeling they did me right and it will be like it was never there!

Granger said the DTE says 20 miles currently! But I requested they don't fill it. I'm an odd duck and only run premium. (For plenty of reasons, tunes mpg etc) and I figure I might as well start on the first tank.

They had two or three available yesterday depending on the fill color and shift pattern style. I was forced to check by my friend @mjcutri !

The removable windows was a major reason that I waited for the modular top and I would have been very unhappy to find that Ford had removed them before delivering my bronco. I don't remember this being mentioned as a Job 2 change and they had definitely advertised them as a feature of the mod top. I would hope that Ford would compensate those of you that ordered an HE expecting the removable windows and don't get them, otherwise they might be opening themselves up for a false advertising lawsuit...

Now I wonder if the windows were the reason for all our delivery delays of if it's just a bit of standard Ford cost cutting hoping that no one will notice.

The removable windows are a cool idea but they don’t provide a great driving experience. The best configuration in my 2 door HE is top fully removed. Second best is top fully on. Removing the front two panels, the gunner’s hatch, and the back windows come in last place.

Agreed on a 2 door it wouldn’t be appreciated and utilized as much as a 4 door with 3 top panels removed for more than enough open air experience with rear shell left on and windows out

I agree.

Oh wow. Strange you guys feel that way. I like taking the whole top off but, when I don't feel like going through the hassle, I pop the front two panels, gunner's hatch and rear windows and it open's it up nicely. My back seat passengers have commented how it's just about as good as taking the whole top off.
