Ford Bronco Can Roll Cage be Removed? saw-makita

But seriously, check out the linked plasti-dip thread. About half a days work with moderate diy skills and less than $100 in materials. I did my rollbar, windshield frame and door jambs all in black.

Yes, it can come off.
You'll be cutting out welds to take it off, and then re-welding it back on at the end.
Not true at all.
Actually for 2024, the cage , like the new Mod Top, is very modular. It will even allow for a half cab version.
Check out this modular half cab roll cage and Mod Top version.

Thank you everyone! I'll talk to this garage again, but my best option may be to overpay for the wrap.

Oh it’s extremely modular. But you still have to cut to take it off.

It ultimately depends on your perspective. But it’s probably safe to say that for most people… once you are drilling out welds and cutting through metal it no longer qualifies as “modular” or “removable”. And your typical auto paint shop would not be willing to do it.

Hi there.
I have a Cactus Gray Wild track. Getting a white top (soon?).

I am trying to get the roll cage painted white.

Shops don't want to paint it bc too much work involved. Wrapping companies are either saying no or charging a lot bc of all the detail work.

One shop saying the best option is to powder coat it. They think the cage CAN come off. They looked up the VIN.

I said I'm not so sure it can. I figured I'd ask the experts....you guys!

Does anyone have first-hand knowledge that the roll cage CAN be removed? Or first-hand knowledge that it CANNOT?

Thank you!

Well if you want to mask and paint your self. It is not that hard the prep work is important.I can see hours doing that! But once u have everything masked off u can get a professional finish by going to a auto paint supply where body shops buy their supplies . A good store can make u the exact color you want in a spray can. And the clear is great wont give u that crappy unfishished look. U have to bang the bottom of the can once u are ready toactive the clear. And u have 24 hr.s to use it all. Both clear and paint is about $225 give or take a few bucks. And that will give u the bst finish if u decide to go that route. But personally I would shop wrap shops and find a better price. I would think it should not be more than $500 . Lots of detail not much material. And if u do wrap it make sure u buy those rear rollbar covers if you have a soft top. Otherwise once u hit the bar with the top your vinly wrap will be trashed. Good luck!

Not removable.
Even if it was, a ton more work than draping and masking off the rest of it to paint it.
Not that that is not in itself a ton of work.
It's expensive because it is a LOT of time and materials to drape off and prep, paint it.
Correct way would be to remove all of the plastics from around it, etc. And that takes time as well.
Lieeeeeees, just overspray with abandon and then declare victory!
