Hmmm, I hold the handle and bottom. Can’t imagine trying to hold them lengthwise. I’m a little old dude and have no problem removing/ replacing my 2 doors by myself.
Not sure exactly what you are asking, but the alignment pins are just for putting the door back on. Once you start the tops bolts you remove the pins and use the standard bolts.

Yeah. Just longer alignment pin. You would still remove once the door is on and use the regular bolts.
Ah, OK, I was going by the picture in that post. Who knows. I guess you can not tighten them and see if they click. The clicking is wanted though as it's a warning the door is loose.
OK. I did think that you were concerned that this product *wouldn't* make the clicking sound when not properly installed.
Great idea! So did you wrap the bolt? If so, with what? I'm going to Home Depot to grab some bolts! The ones being offered on Amazon are too expensive for my taste!Problem for me is that the Ford alignment pin is too short.
Single person install, I come in at a slight angle to get the lower hinge over the guide pin with little problem but then when I lift just a bit to get the upper hinge in place the lower hinge comes off the guide pin. Creating a longer guide pin fixed the problem. Now while I'm fighting to line up the top hinge I don't lose the lower body to lower door portion.
I bought an M8x1.25x45mm bolt (cost $2 for 2 bolts). Cut off the bolt head and use this as the alignment pin (45mm is a bit overkill).

Also, during install, I duct tape the wiring harness to the middle of the door to get it out of my eye line while lining up the lower hinge.
The black wrap is just electrical tape. The top piece is a rubber grommet that I had lying around the work area so I added it thinking it may be easier to grasp. None of the wrap is really necessary, I was just bored.
Amen brother on a Ford redesign! I too, struggle with lining up the doors, then after a couple of unsuccessful tries, I have to put the door down. I'm surprised that someone hasn't made a YouTube video of the extended door pins, which seems that it will make it so much easier to install the doors! 90's and no rain is hitting the Chicagoland area, so the doors will be coming off soon! I created this last September after installing the doors (and failing multiple times) for the winter. That's when in dawned on me that a longer guide pin would fix my issue with the install. Only took me two years to figure this out.
The Ford install video, , shows a two person install. The door is brought into alignment perfectly above the two body hinges. For a single person install this really isn't really practical (for most) given the weight and where you have your hands positioned.
Since the fall of 2021, I'd line the bottom hinge over guide pin, try to align top hinge, fail, rinse and repeat a few times, fail enough to the point that I'd put the door down. I'd then go to my computer and google, "2021 ford bronco door install" looking for answers. Couldn't find anything that worked. In fact, I find it comical that all of the single person install videos that I found show the same thing. The person aligns the door over the bottom body hinge, you then hear a bit of grunting, video stops and starts up again and the door is magically installed. NO! you yada yada yada'd the part I want to see!
Anyway, I hope Ford reads these threads about a single person install being difficult for some people. A cheap/easy solution for them is to include a longer alignment pin. Or perhaps a design change where the bolts are permanently attached to the body side hinge with threads facing up. Keep a longer bolt on the bottom hinge to still act as a guide pin.
Right after I created that longer guide pin I found a thread that mentioned this new product that came out Oct/2023.
