Finally got the cover. Gave up on FPP (Ford Performance Parts), my f’ing points, and my dealer and bought a cover on-line @ full price.

Here are my observations/opinions on the cover:

1) Cosmetically, major bonus points and style points. Not too flashy, but it is there….

2). Very will made and comes with the proper bolts including the threaded studs for the brake line clips.

3) Well packaged!

4) The installation went flawlessly. Draining of the fluid with the original equipment cover was messy. How come you never have a rag handy when you need one?

5). The original fluid was clean…. 28,200 miles. The oil in the untrainable portion in the bottom of the housing was fairly black. It appeared to me that the housing was designed for a bottom drain as several ounces of gear oil remain in the low spot of the Dana housing.

6) If you want to utilize the drain in the FFP housing to its fullest extent, you will have to do some grinding. From the photos, you can see that the way the drain system is fabricated, it forms about a 3/8” damn.. At 60,000 miles, I will probably again remove the cover and grind out the drain to reduce the amount of untrainable oil.

7) The Motorcraft Synthetic Gear Oil, $$$$$$, is very light colored.

Ready to hit the back country!!!

Geez I hope the part is sturdy because that finish is low budget. Sweat shop? I'd sand it down and paint it. What you did looks great but can't believe the sloppy finish, makes the orange peel paint look superb in comparison.

Looks like Belmetrics doesn't carry that stuff anymore. Do you use another source: I'm trying to take the measurements you listed and google a different source but running into a wall but I'll have to keep looking. I'm going to try the fluid changes when I reach more miles . I only have 1200 miles
Thanks for the info
You could try Bolt Depot or McMaster to see if they have it.

PS...which ones are you missing?

I haven’t bought anything yet. I was just starting a shopping list a clicking your links and 3 of the 4 is discontinued or out of stock, can’t remember so I just started copying your measurements and plugging them into google. I’ll get it eventually, lol, it’s might take awhile because some seem to be close in measurements but not exact. I want to make sure it’s exact. I’ll try again later when I have more time. Works got me doing a lot of OT. THX for the other places to look.

I did some checking and Belmetric has most of it (have not checked everything), it seems they changed the links.

I'll post updated links here.

I have the FP and have not put it on yet. So basically I can install as it came, or I can go buy extra parts and reuse the OEM gasket instead. Is that about right?

Or you can just install it with the original OEM gasket and the provided bolts the cover comes with. I didn’t buy any extra parts and it’s been perfectly fine for a long time now.

As Ducatil1098 indicated it comes with bolts and the two studs for the brake line clips. Black oxide. Thread engagement was not an issue even using the original gasket.

My thanks. This is good to know. My impression from this thread was that the bolts would not fit with the OEM gasket. I will try to get on the lift later today and get er done.

Depends on how much thread engagement you want. The factory bolts are 20MM and with the extra thickness of the FP cover with the OEM gasket, you are in the 6-7MM range of engagement.

I prefer at least 1.5x the bolt diameter which means about 12MM, thus 25MM bolts are perfect with the FP cover and OEM gasket.
