I think the squeeze bag question was answered but for the bolts if you're using the OEM rubber gasket the bolts/studs will be too short.

If you're using the fiber gasket that will supplied with the Ford Performance cover, then bolts will be just fine.
So should you use the stock gasket? Is there a consensus on this?

The problem with the fiber gasket that is supplied with the FP cover (aside from needing sealant applied) is there are no replacements on the market. I have searched extensively and could not find one--and I think it is subpar as compared to the OEM which has steel reinforcements in it to prevent crushing it.

Because the OEM gasket is reusable many times and is readily available, I simply chose to go that route and purchased all new bolts and studs to ensure that I had enough thread engagement in the housing.

May you share the bolts and studs shopping list? I think I found some of it here. It's times like this that I almost wish I didn't read things and just installed it the way it comes in the box, but I cannot erase the well-qualified suggestions here! I've got the fluid, FP cover, but wanting to re-use the OEM gasket as suggested. Thank you!

@mikec426

It does not need sealant. It does not specify the use of sealant in the instructions.

I have ran leak free for 10,000kms so far, on the supplied gasket w/o the use of sealant.

And because it does not require sealant, it is reusable.

Fiber/composite gaskets have almost always included or required sealant. It is not reusable from the aspect that you are crushing the gasket, it has nothing to limit the crush, and once crushed, it does not flex back. Composite gaskets will also tear when installed dry which makes them non-reusable.

The saving grace is that it is being used in a low torque and no pressure environment, so you may be able to get away with reusing them, but it is certainly not by design.

What are these squeeze bags? They help with the brake line tabs? They get attached near the cover? I’m so confused…

And bolt lengths are inadequate? How much extra stuff do I need to install this thing?
Amsoil squeeze bag.

Agree no Sealant in instructions just clean surface well and torqued it on to spec. No leaks super easy and all bolts are provided. I'm sure aftermarket will have some gasket in future but for fluid changes I'm just going to drain fluid and fill and clean the mag plug...maybe open it up at 100k+ and look around again.

I must’ve missed it in the videos or something… @CarbonSteel what is the PTFE mega tape for?
