The mods you'll want can be very different depending on how you'll use it. Do you plan on building a mall crawler or do you plan on off-roading it? If you plan on off-roading it then to what degree?

I'm going to say we're going to be doing some mild offroading. Maybe hit some areas in central Arkansas. Kind of playing with several ideas right now. We're still just enjoying the experience>

My wife will have her fair share of ideas to add to the Bronco as well, like one that I'm already having to look into today.

Does anyone have a preference on the illuminated Bronco emblems on the front? I see Putco and Oracle both make one. I have easy access to both, just not sure what the better option is.

I'm going to say we're going to be doing some mild offroading. Maybe hit some areas in central Arkansas.

Are you going off-road as a solo vehicle or with a group? Are you going to be doing any moderate rated trails? I am mainly a solo and generally will go up to trails rated at 6 out of 10. Based on that scenario, here are a few recommendations.

• 12,000lb Winch
• Winch Recovery Gear (straps, shackles, snatch block etc)
• Traction Boards
• Air down tools
• Air compressor or tank to air back up
• Emergency tire repair kit
• First Aid Kit
• Spare tie rods (these are weak spots on Broncos)
• Tool kit for on the trail repairs (don't forget zip ties, duct tape etc)
• GMRS Radio (get a GMRS license as it's required, it's easy, and it's cheap)
• If outside of cell service, a satellite device. I use a Garmin inReach Mini
• If in Bear country, and you'll hit some walking trails, then get and carry Bear Spray

People might recommend getting heavy duty tie rods or tie rod braces, but I would avoid those like they have the plague, unless you are just going to carry them as a repair tool. Why? The tie rods are designed to fail to protect the super thin Bronco steering rack end cap. If you only upgrade the tie rods or you put braces on the stock tie rods, then all you are doing is transferring all the pressure to the next in line weak point which is the rack. I'd much rather have a busted tie rod as opposed to a busted rack.

If you really want to address the Bronco tie rod and rack weak spots, then you'll need to, at a minimum, replace the rack end cap with something like a 74Weld Stage 1 and some HD tie rods.

I recently did the 74Weld Stage 1 and Icon HD tie rods. If you don't want to spend the cash to do the 74 weld and HD tie rods, then leave them stock and carry spares. This will ensure the tie rods fail before ripping your rack up.

Basic mods for Texas:

- Mud flaps and/or lower quarter panel protection. Came across these the other days. You will get chips if you don't do something if you go anywhere near rocks (like caliche roads).
- The hood protector with the bump. Really keeps the bugs off half the windshield. Also helps with some rocks.
- If you'll be out in the country, consider getting the front and rear panel protectors; here and the roof is where you'll get trail stripes.
- Hood raisers; I have the Redline ones, if you get in the engine compartment, you'll likely want them.

If you're going to off road:

- A decent rock rail/sliders.
- The missing plates (don't recall which ones).
- An OnX subscription. If you're only a few hours away from Arkansas, you got several trails and parks not far away. Also, OnX has a lot of great discounts.
- Something for the front sway bar. I'd recommend RockJock AntiRocks, Boss 4x4 Walker Links or at least a fast release.
- Limb raisers if you're out in the country a lot.

So, like I said, I added the RC E-boards last weekend, as well as the hood lift supports. I again recommend any other brand but Rough Country on the hood shocks. Just overcomplicated.

Got the windows tinted today. 5% on all the rear windows, 20% on the front windows, a brow and 50% on the windshield. I must say, the windshield tint is NICE.

Planning on slowly adding a few things here and there. Not sure if it's worth of a build thread. Really wanting to tap into this audio system. Though the 10 speaker is way better than the 7 speaker, it's still lackluster to say the least.

Also, as said before - I'm a GM guy at heart, so I had to cover up the only visible Ford emblem on the entire vehicle .

But my RTT only added a few decibels to the noise, but the noise is less annoying.

To me the Bronco is too damn loud.

Not yet! I did call out one of the hardtop companies though for claiming the factory hardtop was something like 106 db, and theirs was 70 DB with a RTT.

Man, you go on to facebook and give an honest assessment of the bronco (say someone that has no experience with these vehicles is asking in an owners group) and based on the reactions you’d think you had called someone’s mother a hoor and kicked their dog. Seriously people. You can like a thing and still be realistic on it’s shortcomings.

I may be going deaf, but I just don't find it to be that loud. We're coming out of a 2019 Trailboss, and not sure if you're familiar with those Goodyear Duratraks or w/e, but they're horrendously loud tires. Makes the ride almost unbearable. I did put some 35" Ridge Grapplers on it about 2,000 miles before I sold it, and that made a world of difference.

All in all, this thing isn't terribly loud to me. I have never owned a Jeep - have sworn to never - but I do have a good friend of mine that's ridden a couple of places that just recently got rid of his Wrangler Unlimited, and he said the Bronco is night and day quieter.

Honestly it may just be that I read a lot on this forum before I seriously thought about buying one. I think if you go in expecting the worst, it will blow your expectations away. Most people probably went in thinking it'd be like a luxury midsize or something, and were disappointed.

I did put some 35" Ridge Grapplers on it about 2,000 miles before I sold it, and that made a world of difference.

Your last bit confirms what I’m saying. When someone completely new to the removable top market asks questions about the bronco and owners aren’t realistic about it compared to normal vehicles, those that don’t know any better have the wrong expectations coming in to it. Especially when spending seventy grand. I’ve had Wranglers, Hummers, 4Runners, and a myriad of pickups, and wind noise is just part of the game with removable tops. Pointing that out isn’t a diss on the rig, it just is what it is. If we’re taking a long trip that isn’t based around wheeling, we’re taking the pickup. It’s much quieter and more comfortable. That’s just reality and someone going from a Toyota Camry into a Bronco for daily driving and zero wheeling might end up absolutely hating it.

The website is pretty tragic. Probably easiest to just order from your dealer. They’ll apply the points at checkout.

If you buying from Ford Performance, there is a radio button asking if you want to pay for installation, then below that is a map, put in your zip, you will see a list of dealers to choose from just follow the prompts. I believe you can even have the parts delivered to the dealer.

I installed it myself, so I'm not 100% on the details, but it's pretty easy steps to follow, I'm sure after you do all that, you would have to call the service department to actually set up an appointment.
